The Jack Rodwell Date with 828/Eclipse the 946

Bloody hell

Certainly keeping it interesting with 42 minutes per game needed for the 946 and coming off after 45.

I suspect he checked this thread at HT, and thought thatā€™d do him for the night.

That would be brave. Make hay while the sun shines, no?

Jack Rodwell doesnā€™t care for lunar cycles

The shot of him on the bench at about 70th minute, he looked like heā€™d already showered, changed and was ready for bed.

Exactly. He needs to make this seasonā€™s documentary as interesting and suspenseful as last seasonā€™s!

Round 11 Update
As discussed during the match, the gods of the 946 decided to keep things interesting pretty much as soon as the requisite 42 weekly minutes for 946 were reached. Itā€™s not for them to watch JR put some tarmac between this season and last - itā€™s gonna be a fucking slog the whole way.

Round Minutes this week Cumulative Minutes 2022-23 Comparison Minutes per game To 828 828 - Regular Season To 946 946 - Regular Season
Before Season NA 0 0 0 828 31 946 35
1 0 0 0 0 828 32 946 36
8 69 69 45 9 759 40 877 46
9 67 136 45 15 692 38 810 45
10 90 226 122 23 602 35 720 42
11 45 271 212 25 557 35 675 42

Notes etc

  • 7 - his record run of consecutive games in the A-league set at the tail end of last season (which would have been longer but for a freak injury in concussion curtailing that) will remain intact until at least the last third of this season, as the current run is cut short at 4
  • No need to panic? in 2022-3, he did play a full 90 minutes in the equivalent round 11, taking him to a cumulative 212 minutes. However, not only is that nearly an hour less than this time around, but he didnā€™t get back on the pitch after that until round 19. This means we still have a chance to see him get further ahead of last season, which I think will be bloody well needed as itā€™s highly unlikely that heā€™ll be able to put a similar run of games together as he did late in 22-3
  • Looking ahead, since we know we wonā€™t see him for the next week or two, the required minutes per game will go up to 45 then 48 in the next 2 rounds as he misses those.

edit: I just realised that for my first note, my pessimism has gotten ahead of me - we donā€™t 100% know he wonā€™t play next week just yet, so his current run of games is not officially scuppered

Iā€™m still backing the 828 in.
I donā€™t think heā€™ll get there.

Only 557 to go for that - 6 and a half games of football!

Heā€™s got an extra game to do it, too.

You make that sound like a task a peasant could accomplish!

All Iā€™m getting out of that is that I should double down.

The comment from Uffie was that Jack would be assessed after 24-48 hours, yet we have heard nothing. The people demand to know the truth!

Uffie also said he ā€œfelt his calf againā€, which, if taken literally, means the mysterious injury Rodwellā€™s been battling is a bad case of paresthesia.

Probably one of those wait-and-see ā€œone weekā€ injuries. I doubt the club are going to be too forthcoming about it until a journo pushes for answers.

Overs/unders as to when weā€™ll see him again? Iā€™ll plump for Melby City on Feb 24th

675 remaining minus two ~60 minute games when he returns is 555 minutes, or 6-point-something 90 minute games.

He probably hits his 945 in the one finals game we play, so I predict him closing out the regular season with the two partial games and six full games to put him in reach.

So returns for 60 minutes on 10-Mar-2024 at home against Brisbane for me.

Wonā€™t happen.

Yeah it will. That is how weā€™ll justify the contract extension.
