- 5 consecutive weeks out already. We started with 7 this season, a record run shared with rounds 12-18 last season (edit: I originally incorrectly typed this season). Whisper it quietly but we may be a chance of hearing that special bell reserved for new records dinging proudly in a few weeks!
- So over an hour per game required, provided we get no finals games. I don’t want to jinx things so I’ll say we’re still only an outside chance of making those. And anyhow, the people have voted that the target should be in the regular season.
Another two weeks minimum on the sidelines though.
What are the required minutes without finals if he also sits out the next two games?

So he has officially missed more time than he did last season I’m guessing.
Actually we are doing BETTER than we were at this time last season - he has played nearly an hour more in this season’s first 16 rounds than he did in last season’s!

I’d actually be surprised if Talay plays him if fit… He’s hopefully not going to be given a new contract and the JGR/Lacerda partnership isn’t the worst. It’s rough around the edges but it could definitely be a lot worse. What would be the point of brining in someone who’s gone in a few months, to the detriment of a player who looks to be cementing his starting position.
He’s clearly an amazing player when fit. I would be surprised if he doesn’t play him. If we get in the finals he’ll get get a run for sure if we want to be contenders.

So the Rodwell Klaxon has been dusted off and cranked up with the news that after 7 weeks with no minutes, and lo, on the 8th week, he was in the squad list.

As per my last post, he seems to go on these 7 game run with no minutes, then returns just when the defence has seemingly settled into life without him. Let’s see if he does get on the pitch though.

Looking at the comparison between this season and last (3rd and 4th columns) it’s worth the reminder that he wouldn’t pass this season’s 271 minutes until round 21. So this is where he really needs to get a break on if we are going to hit the 946 rather than playing a disappointing second season of 828.

In general, 75 minutes per game required to reach the 946 in the regular season, so we’re starting to get into the “definitely need a finals run” territory.

Just a little extra stat blast for fans of our club’s recruitment team. Taking the first 18 games of his two seasons with us, he has appeared in 7 out of 36 games.

Would love to see a $’s per minute played salary breakdown, on that basis he’s probably above ADP as our highest paid ever.
I wouldn’t - it’d be frigging depressing to see how much money we’ve wasted on him.
We all laugh at how little that Serbian bloke gets played at the Favela’s, I reckon they laugh at us about Rodwell.

After this Sunday:
- there will be 675 minutes left to go to get our 946.
- There will be 7 matches left, offering up a total of 630 playable minutes (stats don’t
ever tend to count injury time minutes).
So, by failing to get 45 minutes in last week (or this week) we have reached the tipping point where we will not reach the 946 in the regular season.
- Target 1 (946 in the regular season): FAILED
946 will be difficult even if we get to the final but are immediately eliminated - 84 minutes per game required in the final 7 rounds + 1 final. We’ll really need to get at least as far as in 2022-23.
Even getting to 828 in the regular season will require 80 minutes per round in the final 7 match days.
My value-o-meter is out of batteries at the moment so I’m unsure whether this has been a good value signing. I have a takeaway container full of AAAs of dubious provenance, and really can’t be arsed putting them through my multimeter to work out which ones to stick in, because the bloody multimeter’s battery is dead too 
So I’ll have to pop down the shops tomorrow and will get us all an answer on this.

If we’re going to be down a few players due to Olyroos duty that’s fine, but I definitely don’t want him starting in front of any of those young guys if they’re available. Will await Rory Bunk’s next update but it seems like it’ll be line ball to the 946 even if he plays every minute of every game and we make the GF.
