Everyone who agreed to sign him should tender their resignation immediately.

Unless heā€™s a marqueeā€¦

Iā€™m not calling for him to go. Iā€™m too invested in this exercise now.

Iā€™m actually surprised he has played that many minutes so far. Iā€™d have guessed way lower than that. Maybe Iā€™ve just assumed he is always crooked

If you have low expectations, you can never be disappointed

Stick the bloke on a long term injury list, let insurance pay him out, bring in another overseas CB thatā€™s not injury prone.

But weā€™re making the finals now, so he might have an extra few matches to get the remaining 616 minutes in

Iā€™m loving the press conference Jack Rodwell question meme after every game.

Corica always, ā€œ1 week or twoā€

Heā€™ll score the winning header in the Grand Final and earn himself another 2 years.

ā€œSo Steve, when do you expect Rodwell back?ā€
awkward silence
ā€œEr, who?ā€
ā€œJack Rodwell. Your English Center-Backā€¦ā€
confused frown
ā€œIā€™m sorry, going to need a little moreā€¦ā€
ā€œRodwell, you know, the injury prone Center Back you signed from the Wanderers thatā€™s barely seen any game time this seasonā€
Shakes head adamantly
ā€œNope, sorry. Itā€™s not ringing a bellā€
ā€œOh, come on Steve. 6"2, ruggedly good looking. Played Premier League with Everton, Manchester City and had a Saga at Sunderland, speaks wif a bit a funnie accent ehā€
Shrugs non-committedly
ā€œI do not know of anyone at this club by that nameā€
Robbie Stanton leans in and whispers something in Coricas ear
"Oh, Jack Rodwell chortles heartedly ā€œI thought he was just a member of the cleaning crew around the training groundsā€.

Match Day 16 update:

The overall season target
828 minutes in 26 match days: just under 32 minutes per week

The story so far (to Round 16):
212 minutes in 16 matches: 13 and a quarter minutes per week played

The target:
616 minutes to go in 10 matches: 61 minutes per week needed
Status: ATTAINABLE but DIFFICULT.

Fun fact 1: To reach the target, heā€™ll need to spend just under twice as many minutes on the pitch per week in these remaining games, as was the case at seasonā€™s start.
Fun fact 2: If we give him all of his next (contracted) season to hit that 828, heā€™ll need to play just over 17 minutes per week over 36 games - which would still be more than heā€™s averaged so far :anguished:
Fun fact 3: I need to get back to work

Do finals count? I maintain he is being held back to be unleashed in the finals to lead us to glory in our home grand final (after finishing fifth)

To be honest, when I started the thread, finals didnā€™t look like a problem we were going to have.
Iā€™d prefer to keep it like for like, but we can look at an extension if and when we are in that situation.

He was on the training pitch in the 10 news segment yesterday. I donā€™t know if that makes him closer to playing or increases the risk of a new injury.

It doesnā€™t necessarily mean he was training. He could have gotten lost between the car park and the physio room.

So apparently none of the injuries Rodwell has suffered with us have been recurrences of old injuries and the latest issue was a bad bout of influenza, heā€™ll be back ā€˜soonā€™
