Brothers Kebabs are indeed Ace.
Not quite Kograh/Rockdale, but if you are in the Canterbury Bankstown region:
Canterbury Kebabs - Canterbury Road, Canterbury
Sydney Kebabs - Hume Highway Bankstown
Sydney Star Kebabs - Marion Street Bankstown
TC Brothers - Cnr Canterbury & Chapel Roads, Bankstown.
Fuck, now I want a kebab for lunch.
I rate Sultans and Brothers above Golden but agree as a top 3, Sultans is a Friday night staple in our house…
Can confirm, Red Rooster ticks all my fast food boxes currently. At least at the Chullora store.
Only complaints, but burgers themselves could be a bit bigger. The buns are esentially dinner rolls, and their napkin situation needs rectifying. These tiny wafter thin napkins that they only give you a a couple of.
Brothers at Rockdale it was. Thanks for the tip all. Amazing
That’s the place with the knocking shop next door, right?
Across from the Banksia Hotel?
I love that expression so much
Yup.
Fill your boots, before filling your chops.
I used to pass there on my way to work at around 530am. I used to laugh at the guys coming out of the brothel going straight for (another) kebab…
Hopefully the second kebab was packed better
Was going to treat myself to a bit of Red Rooster for lunch, but now have a hankering for Charcoal Chicken .
Will pop in and get some Al-Tazah from Regents Park for lunch.
So didn’t get my lunch as anticipated.
Did however stop in at El Jannah on the way home last admid the torrential rain at Gregory Hills.
Sadly, like all good things that sell out and go for expansion, it’s not as good as it was - or at least the OG in Granville is.
It’s nice, but the chickens missing that flavour oomph, and the garlic sauce is no longer made fresh in house, now its mass produced and comes in these pre packaged tubs. It’s not overly strong and tastes more like they’ve added some garlic to a giant vat of mayo.
The fried chicken is alright if thats your style, but the coating could use flavour.
I’ve never been a fan of El Jannah. I’ve been loyal to Hawa for 20 odd years but I couldn’t agree more. I tried the El jannah at Baulkham Hills franchise and it was trash. All their products served in a tub were second rate. The tabouleh was the most disapointing for me. It had bugger all lemon in it and was packed light, I can only assume to give it a longer shelf life. The chicken definitely lacked the tang of a quality leb chucken joint.
Kogarah is better than Newtown. It’s weird that el Janna is now in melby and Canberra. It’s still way ahead of most other options even though it’s franchised out. The Canberra one was pretty decent last weekend so it also might be timing etc.
The worst Frangos meal is better than the best El Jannah
Frangos went through a dark patch for a while but I feel they’re back. I find it ironic that their tabouli is better than the el Janna one. Still have to try the Authentic Portuguese flatbread ®™ to see how that stacks up!
I reckon el Jannah is overrated. Everything is just so salty.
Kingsley’s chicken in Canberra used to be great but it got really oily and made you feel gross after eating.
I think the pandemic caused them to forget how to cook chicken.
Their chips used to be the bomb tho…
