The Poultry War - Sydney's Chicken thread

Pfft Sydney has nothing on London in the Poultry Wars. There is more than 8000 shops here selling fried chicken. I read in one London Borough there is 42 fried chicken shops for each school. Mile End Road has 14 fried chicken shops on it alone.

Too bad they are all fucking shit. I still don’t know how they all exist selling meals for £1-2, surely they have to be fronts for illegal activity.

Yeah, fried is one thing, but how are they for charcoal?

The days of the chicken connisour on YouTube by that bloke who looked like he was 12 but actually was in his 30s covered most of them. He went viral for a while there. Him and his swanky crep checks.

Haven’t watched him in a few years, not sure if he’s still going around the traps. I got into the habit of calling people boss man after that

Excited for lunch today. Gonna get me a cheeky Oporto!

2 hours till lunch. Starvin’.

South Strathfield Oporto. Decent without being spectacular.

Oporto has always been pricy, but paying +$30 for a burger meal and spicy bolas is a bit dear.

Considering the Poms love of Nandos, a place no one in Australia even thinks is good, I would say their charcoal chicken culture is lacking

You would be correct in assuming that, it sucks here, which actually surprises me, I think it would do great considering the popularity of Nandos.

God I miss a good Bondi burger, was always a favourite. Back in Sydney next month, can’t wait to have one.

We all miss a good Bondi Burger …

Come down to Nath91’s Spitroast…

Charcoal chickens, beer, and questionable inuendo aplenty.

That spit roast looks more appealing than hanging around for the Sydney Adelaide game. Address please?

Its a hut, where they sell Dosas.

But that’s not important right now.

…there’s four places. There’s the Dosa Hut. That’s on third. There’s Dosas-R-US. That’s on third too. You got Put-Your-Dosa-There. That’s on third. swing Low, Sweet Dosa. Matter of fact, they’re all in the same complex. It’s the Dosa District down on third.

I know it aint chicken but I reckon there’s a market for a lechon shop chain, whole suckling pig roasted over a charcoal fire then served by cut.

Id love that but I’ve got a theory that in Australia meat served with the animals face will never be popular.

Sorry to post in this thread but I cannot find the food thread.

I am in Kogarah/Rockdale today and have a hankering for a good kebab.

Any recommendations?
