For mine, Hianese chicken is generally too dry and lacks flavour or decent texture. The only saviour is the accompanying sauce of which they rarely give you enough and the rice if it has enough umame from having enough chicken influence in the cooking. Every now and again I will find a good one, but even then the actual chicken is rarely the star, it’s the rice and sauce.
One thing I really hate about Chinese style chicken, is that they generally cut up the whole chicken and you end up spending more time picking the meat off the bones than actually enjoying the flavour. If you leave the bone in, don’t cut it up into tiny pieces!

Where? If you had a good experience at Marsden Park, I’ll be shocked. The “chilli” sauce was about as hot as mayonnaise.

Yep, when Oporto was pretty much only found in the CBD. I forget where exactly, but I think it was close to Central.
Broadway was one of the early ones after it expanded from the OG in Bondi.
First one I had was from there in 2001. Double Bondi with extra chilli. I remember it to this day it was glorious.
I remember the first time I went to the one in Penrith after a few years of Newtown.

The day they stopped calling the Norm a Norm and started calling it a Bondi no chili, it was all over.
As a left field addition, I’ll add Super Nash Brothers (small chain - Waitara, Waterloo and Willoughby) that has historically been Nashville fried chicken, but has recently permanently added a Portuguese inspired Frango burger (still fried)
Had their fried chicken and it was amazing. They had a pop up in auburn and used to get it at work. Good times
If you don’t like chilli get a norm
I had the snack pack version of that, it was okay. Their store is 500m from my place - it’s pretty good chicken, but I find the Nash seasoning way too sweet.
It’s also fucking exxy

Yup, back when it was good. Visited there plenty of times.
They removed it from the menu. Now it’s a bondi with no chilli.
