What a bunch of wank.
Where’s that dedication for actual football? Also they did a pretty shit job - can still see the D of the goalbox. Although its a better effort than if the roles reversed.

What struck me as strange is they are cutting the grass after the football so its shorter for the Origin
Yeah that is a bit odd, it’s usually the other way around
You’d think Tony G can have input into what kind of playing surface he wants for the Matildas games. I’m going to guess he didn’t offer any, or he advised to offer a longer pitch.
There’s one more theory on the shorter grass… They could just mow the grass based on a pre-set timetable/pre-set length and it just happened to occur a few days after the game?
Are they actually cutting it or are they just pushing the grass in a particular direction to create the 10m segments?
I’d say it’s a combination of these two - they’ll take a little bit off the top as part of regular maintenance and also set the 10m lines. Football tends to have slightly different distances for the horizontal lines - the most even distribution is to have 5.5m intervals to line up the goal box, penalty spot and penalty area, either just shy of 4.5m or 5.4m up to the centre circle and then just shy of 4.6m intervals for the centre circle. It doesn’t line up nicely with RL fields.
I read they cut the grass shorter to limit any moisture build up in the turf for Wednesday night.
Add to that when they’re trying to reverse it ready for football there’s no way they’re doing in that same nights, so the lines don’t come out as easily.
But the worst part is the massive advertisements on the field, surely it’s time they’re just superimposed for TV viewers.
For the most part they do, but they only seem to be superimposed on certain camera angles.
I guess if Sponsors are paying a shittonne for SoO they make them paint them on so they’re visable no .atter what the angle.
Went out to Origin live.
Not sure if shown on the Telecast but the pre-game was pretty awesome.
Not sure if temporary or not but they’d installed multiple colour laser projectors on both sides of the field and used them to draw multiple things on a dark field in the pre-game including player names for the intro, field markings, words, logos etc.
Looked great. Of course all the crowd noises disappeared after the 5th minute send off.
The pregame on Ch.9 mainly consisted of loads and load of unbearable ads, with a bit of change room activity, followed by more ads.
I’m assuming they chucked in a 10 minute Phil Gould monologue of wank among all that, as they usually do.
Fixed that for you.
So the Leichhardt upgrade got approved.
The funding will support new female-friendly change rooms, an increased seating capacity of 3,000, and a new northern grandstand.
None of the news releases mention anything about the Sydney FC womens team, who play more at Leichhardt Oval in a season than Wests do in 3.
But sure, it’s funding for the Tigers.
I haven’t seen any commitment from the Tigers to play there
I just googled and clicked on the first few links I saw. Most were Murdoch rags, but point remains.
