So i cancelled Disney and have till the end of the subscription date. Suddenly the video playing cuts out as does the sound. Never had this problem before, dodgy fuckers
The books are impossible to adapt - too many characters and bizarre pacing.
First season was seriously affected by covid stuff (and one of the main actors quit or got fired mysteriously). Second season was better. I think they’re skipping the Stone of Tear stuff in S3 which seems daft, but keen to see where they to with it.
So, to expanding on my theme of staying away from Stans of the book and moving into adaption …
So what if it is a poor adaption? Is it a good story? As far as stories go, it’s enjoyable. Is it enjoyable if you sit there with the 95 page tale of the first day and a half of the fair in two rivers and the tedious writing that is WoT’s touchstone and note all the ways the TV show changes the story? Probably not.
Is it a good story?
Have you ever heard someone tell a story that you were involved in and you sit there with a quizzical look on your face wondering how they interpreted it that way cause that’s not how you remember it?
Enjoy each recounting of a tale for what it is. Not for how it lines up with another recounting of that tale.
Holy human centipede. I mean it wasn’t quite The Deep violating aquatic animals, or people shrinking themselves into male anatomy, but it was up there…
Also new season of the Mayor of Kingstown is out. Will check that out once I’ve finished Bosch.
