The Great is good but if you want your Russian history to be more accurate then Catherine the Great (Helen Mirren) is on Binge.

James May: Our Man In Japan is quite fun.

Anyone else having huge issues with the Stan app on their phone? I regularly use it to watch Supernatural, but it keep on telling me my internet is dropping out, or it just buffers until I force close it. Using a Samsung. Doesn’t happen with any other app I use and I’ve checked internet speed on the phone each time without issues.

Anyone else seen Many Saints of Newark?

The North Water.

Short season of 5 eps on Binge. About some whalers heading to the Artic & some fucked up shit going on. Has Colin Farrell playing one of the dodgy fuckers. Defs worth a watch.

There’s a new series of Dexter on Paramount. So far so good

Yeah… it sucked.

Just noticed all six seasons of ā€˜Oz’ is available on Paramount +.
If you’re in the market for a brutal, depressing prison drama, this is the one for you.

Did I mention Ernie Hudson???

I was just rewatching a few episodes of ā€˜The Hollowmen’ and it is a bit incredible that the first season came out in 2008, but could just as easily have been made and released in 2021, that is how little things have changed in Parliament House.

I have never watched Oz, but being a bit of a Ghostbusters fan, you reminded me of this that I saw on Ernie Hudson;s wiki once… seems like one of the oddest tidbits of information. Imagine being primarily famous for one major role, they then make a cartoon version of that role, you then have to audition for the role you made famous, and then they give it someone else.

Hudson gained fame playing Winston Zeddemore, who enlists with the Ghostbusters in the feature film Ghostbusters (1984) and its 1989 sequel. He also auditioned to reprise the role for the animated series, The Real Ghostbusters , but it was given to Arsenio Hall.

I also know that Eddie Murphy was meant to play Winston in the first place, Hudson was a last minute replacement and they cut most of his lines out of the original movie…

Finished Loki … still not sure what to make of it to be honest. Storyline and plot was really great I think… In the most part, the it was really well acted, though a bit ā€˜corny’ at times IMO.

I think the casting of one particular character in the final episode was not well done… but that is just a personal opinion. Can’t nail who it felt like that character was trying to mimic, but for lack of a more thought out example, seemed like a poor imitation of something Christoph Waltz would do, or even a not so great version of Jim Carrey being a ā€˜bad guy’.

I watched The Crow for the first time in ages and had totally forgotten that Ernie Hudson played the Cop in it.

It is about the only other thing I have ever seen him in…

How does The Crow hold up. Like a lot of teenagers in the 90’s, i thought it, and its soundtrack were the best things going around. I was actually talking about it with my wife the other day about whether as a movie, it really wasn’t that great but Lee dying on set really made it a big deal (mostly because they finished the film).

I still love it.
I watch it every now and then and it gets me every time.

The soundtrack holds up, the movie not as much. It’s still a pretty solid film but you can definitely tell that it’s a movie of its time. There’s definitely some little cringe worthy moments whenever they deliver those philosophical lines, but it’s a Goth inspired movie of the 90s so it’s expected.

One thing though; it is weird that you can see where you can see CGI Lee running across the roof tops and the exact scene where he was shot.

Still amazes me they finished and to my understanding, used the scene where he was shot

I just couldn’t get over the goth kid skateboarding in the wet, she could end up with a nasty graze.

Might have to watch it again just to remember that harrowing scene.

Yeah, the scene was used. He dies in that scene at the ā€œboardroomā€ in the night club where it seems like a million people are trying to shoot him.

It doesn’t have to rain all the time.
