Ah shit yeah youâre right about Dorne. Easy to forget them given the show took a dump on them two seasons ago then wrote them out of existence. I guess I can accept that. Fuck show Euron though. They couldâve made things so much more believable by including his magical dragon-controlling horn.
I think the showrunners got their Star Wars contract, realised that writing the show well without the source material to draw from is actually quite difficult, and just decided to get it all out of the way as quickly as possible.
I think it shows how good and important the source material was and how poor the shows actual writers are. They were only ever there to condense the already written material into tv time. Disappointing at this stage. I can see Danny all set to disappear into a rage filled Mad King style black hole quickly over the next two episodes and John killing her for the greater good. Jamie to kill Cersei while The Mountain kills The Hound and Arya kills The Mountain.
For a show with a medieval setting they seem to have a very good understanding of the precise number and location of each otherâs troops despite scant evidence of any scouts and the complete non-use of dragons (now singular) for reconnaissance.
Oh well, at least we got Cleganebowl. I do like the little touch with The Hound and Arya before Cleganebowl as well. Otherwise, the way this series has been fucked up in this season and the last should give budding screenwriters around the world the necessary belief that they can actually do better than some of these millionaire pricks who canât write a screenplay without being led by a bunch of books.
Truncate the season in a story that needs about another 10 eps to tell it properly than spend a third of the 2nd last episode doing touching feely slow mo with atmospheric music at complete odds with the history of the show.
The two twats running this thing obviously donât give a damn anymore and just want to get onto fucking over Star Wars.
Its clear that the purpose of this episode was to ensure that the audience has built up enough dislike towards Daenerys. Itâs now just a case of who is going to kill her.
