Not sure when we’ll be able to officially get them in Aus but I was thinking of doing to redirect to a US address thing.

Yeah it’ll be a long time before it arrives for sale in Australia if it is the same policy as the index

Yeah I’m keen for the steam deck. Been playing a lot of TemTem lately, which is just Pokemon but good. Always had this nagging notion in NH head I should be playing somewhere else besides my PC. A portable PC though…

Deathloop is phenomenal and everyone should get on it. It is like if Dishonoured had good gunplay, and with some really fun and funny writing.

Yeah I’ll be getting Deathloop at some point. Just clearing through a bit of a backlog first. Next up will be Returnal though, first PS5 exclusive. Sable and Kena after that.

Considering this has been a bit of a dry year, I’ve still played some absolute bangers.

Disco Elysium Final Cut
Psychonauts 2
Ratchet and Clank
13 Sentines Aegis Rim
Neir Replicant
The Forgotten City
Deathloop

Some of those came out at the end of last year, but still!

Holy shit!

Do i need to quit my job to play Disco Elysium? Its on the switch and looks like itd be quality playing handheld.

I loved it.

Played it with a mouse and keyboard. Not sure what it would be like on a Switch. It seemed pretty mouse oriented to me.

Play it without spoilers and be willing to fail dice rolls. No idea what it will be like on the switch but I loved it too

Yeah just go with the flow. The game is designed to be that way and there is some great stuff written around those fails.

Kotick staying on as CEO so probably not much change going to happen.

Bloomberg saying he’s gone

He’ll be gone as soon as the deal goes through.

With an enormous bag of money, I imagine.

And now Sony is in for Bungee.

Probably better value than Activision.

I think there is a fairly weird narrative around a studio that left Microsoft to go independent, then were acquired by Activision, then had to buy themselves back again to get out of that shit-storm and are now being bought by Sony. While Activision is being bought by Microsoft…

Sliding doors and that.

It makes sense strategically - Sony needs a reliable FPS developer to compensate for the potential loss of COD - but I’m not sure I Iove this trend of market consolidation. Thank God it’s easier than ever for indies to get games out there.

I think this is it. The indie scene will continue to really drive the creative side of the industry.

Activation, in particular is essentially creatively bankrupt at this point. Bethesda not much better. So many of the main creatives have already struck out and formed independent studios. This will only continue. We may end up with a golden era of independent development.

Wonder if this is really it, or if they’re more interested in their live service chops.

I thought COD had confirmed that they would continue making it available to Sony? Seems pretty stupid to limit games to only a few mediums. I can’t see that many people shifting over to XBOX purely to be able to play COD?

This is a big point. I’m unlikely to pay top dollar for an AAA game more than once a year, if that. Cyberpunk is the clearest example of why I’m usually very cautious about pre-ordering any AAA game these days.

I don’t buy every year from series that release annually, either. I have no interest in lining the pockets of publishers that want maximum dollars for minimal improvement or creativity.

The CODs that are currently in development come out on the platforms they’re being developed for. Sony has some kind of co-marketing/ exclusivity deal in place for those games that maybe Microsoft are reluctant to reneg on.

After that, though…? Hard to imagine you spend $69 billion to put games out on other peoples platforms…
