Just finished setting up a Retropie for my niece and nephew for Xmas. Going through the full library of NES, SNES, Megadrive and Master System games is crazy, so many old games I played when I was younger that I’d completely forgot that existed. Nostalgia trip.
I’ve just setup the Xbox (original) for the summer hols to play through a few classics - Project Gotham 2 laps around the Sydney circuit come to mind.
That’s sitting next to the Dreamcast that I still fire up a few times a week for Crazy Taxi 2 sessions. I’m also currently playing through an NBA 2k2 (not a typo ) season with the Raptors - led by the immortal Vince Carter… ahhh the memories!
If you don’t mind tinkering I’d definitely recommend grabbing a raspberry pi 3 or later and installing retropie and a bunch of ROMs. You can even pick up replica USB controllers. Full setup including 2 controllers and a replica mini SNES was less than $150
I nabbed a spot in the fortnite comp that the clubs are doing.
Buhagiar is playing along with some WSW and Mel city players.
One of my boys is going to play, hopefully he scores some cool prizes or something.
I’m playing the latest Metro game, damn it’s buggy as hell. I’m running a decent rig, but I have to install it on my SSD just to be able to play without glitches. On top of that, i’m in the dessert area and have to start it from scratch as a bug isn’t letting me continue… Apart from that, it’s a pretty good game.
A massive update got released for Disco Elysium last week, including fully voiced dialogue, new quests, controller support, etc intended for a console release. Anyway, game got refused classification so wont be getting released in Australia on consoles. Still up on GOG and Steam for the time being and its definitely worth picking up before it (probably) ends up getting pulled from the Australian stores.
I had a few hours logged from about 18 months ago. Ended up restarting after the update. Probably one of the best RPGs ive played in ages, the voice acting is great.
I played though when it was first released… torn between trying to find out what the new quests are (so I don’t miss them) or just playing though again and hoping. Probably go second option
Do you get all that stuff for free if you own the original version?
That game was utterly beautiful. An absolute travesty it was denied classification for something as trivial as drug use when artless and gratuitously violent films and TV shows waltz through without a second glance.
Yeah free update. I own the Steam version and it just updated on release. Not sure how it works for the other versions.
The controller integration is awesome too, such good game to just chill on the couch and play through. Really does suck it got refused classification.
Playing through Mass Effect Legendary ED on Xbox. Worth the purchase for ME1 and it’s upgrade alone here.
Looking forward to the other 2 installments as I progress.
Combat and graphics have been given a real shot in the arm. Picked up copies of the prequel novels by Drew Karpyshyn. Goin all in.
It’s definitely worth it, although the 3rd one obviously has the least impact. I actually didn’t realise there were that many expansions for number 3. I’ve played through the full thing and loves the three!
