Have you got a TCL tv? You probably need to unplug from the power point at least once weekly

I watch it on my iPad, and hook that up to my adequate tv and all is good. I know its not amazing for a variety of reasons but its better than nothing so please can we just embrace the new world?

Yeah, it is a TCL TV. How’d you know?

Its never happened with any other show though? Just Blue Bloods since I got P+

I had the same problem. Works perfectly then all of a sudden has audio lag. Have to unplug it and it resets it. I think it has something to do with the poor quality in built Chromecast on TCL TVs.

Surely Paramount could just switch it off and then back on again to fix?

I’m almost certain I was getting 60 fps from the main camera on the Wanderers match on Sunday. Or my TV switched on some weird interpolation nonense without telling me.

Watching the Matildas last night, I just watched DIgital TV so I could focus on the coverage itself, which I thought was really good. Definitely a cut above Fox, even when they were taking it seriously.

Would that camera even record at 60fps? It would look weird compared to usual 24 you see on TV in Australia.

Will definitely give it a go. Cheers. Was really annoying.

This is what it looks like, to me.

Some of the posts on the social media have definitely been at 60. Or at least interpolated to give the illusion of 60.

I don’t know how slow motion works in this future age, but would they film everything at a higher than standard frame rate to allow for better looking slow-mo?

What is in the stream and how many times your TV refreshes the frame are two different things.

If your TV is running at 60htz refresh rate, and the video is at 30fps your TV shows the same frame twice. 30 frames of video each refreshed/displayed twice within a second.

I’m well aware of that. I’m saying I believe the feed was 60 fps via a Chromecast on Sunday night.

There’s definitely 60 fps match footage out there on Keepup and other socials. I don’t think Channel 10 could broadcast it over a TV signal but there’s no reason Paramount couldn’t stream at that quality.

It all depends on the back end systems and workflows. If they are doing different things with the media (e.g. the streams being at a different frames compared to other digital ouputs - for highlights and what not) then cost & timeline are the most likely reasons. We’ve had some games on at the same time which could mean that different facilities and workflows are being used also.

I’m not sure if here is the best place to express opinions about KeepUp or not, but I think including a link to a gambling site is totally fucked:

I mean, I tend to agree, but every sporting app in existence links to gambling companies. My main issue with it is children and teenagers are using the app and it normalises gambling to them from a young age.

For adults, if you’re allowing complete saturation of betting advertising everywhere else, doesn’t seem that it’s going to make much of a difference.

Our team is sponsored by a casino that’s definitely guilty of money laundering. We should probably get our own house in order first.

I was able to opt our of gambling ads when I signed up… so it’s not that bad really

Can’t argue with that. It’s noble to have this anti-gambling stance but I honestly think that ship has sailed in professional sports, and perhaps in all of society.

Money talks and the gambling industry is big money.

So was the cigarette industry.
