If we beat the Phillipines, there’s no way we don’t qualify. We could send in the U12s and cop a century, we’d still make it to the next round.

India failed to name the required 13 players and were unable to play their match of the group stage against Chinese Taipei due to them having only fewer than 13 players left with the remaining team members testing positive for COVID-19. They were considered to have withdrawn from the competition, and all previous matches played by them shall be considered “null and void” and would not be considered in determining the final group rankings.
Jeez, I know it’s the times we live in and all, but that’s still a fairly solid failing of the bubble environment you’d expect a host nation to be under for < 2 weeks.
“All previous matches” is their one played match, where debutants Iran fought super hard for the point and the keeper made some brilliant saves to keep a clean sheet. A debutant getting a point in their first game against the host nation was impressive. I wasn’t expecting Iran to make it out of the group, probably not even finish third, but I’m disappointed for them they now have nothing to show for that first game. I understand awarding Iran all 3 would make it uneven with other third placed teams, but at least make it so the other groups subtract the points won against the team that finishes 4th in the group.
So Micah in for Arnold, Yallop in for Wheeler (which means EvE sucking at six), and Kyah in for Raso who was ordinary the other night.
I get playing the strongest side again now and then wholesale changes in game 3.
We are noticeable steps down on last game, and it’s not just the opposition. The speed of our ball movement and speed to get forward are just much slower.

When in possession there seems to be two CBs on half way and everyone else up front as a forward. A few players need to drop back to mid-field to provide passing options for the defenders
Who’d have thought that midfield’s just not very good?
So much long ball rubbish, they’re not even trying to play through to feet. I hope Staj does a 1-0 smash and grab.
