Winner for the away win over Central Coast was Marco Tilio.
He’s the 9th different winner this season, the 9th player to win it on their A-League debut for the club (after Vedran, ADP, Ognenovski, O’Neill, Vukovic, Alfie, King and Reza), and it’s the 10th time that MOTM has been won by a substitute (after Cazarine, Cole, Carle, Brosque, Smeltz, Simon [twice], Holosko and De Jong), although Tilio came on much later than all of the previous cases.
Not a great turnout so far for the WSW game. If you can bear it, please think back and submit some votes:
MOTM for last week’s loss against Western Sydney was Luke Brattan. It was a comprehensive win too: he was just 1 vote shy of getting an average of 2 from each voter and of getting double the tally of the 2nd-placed player. Thanks to everyone who voted.
It’s his 5th MOTM of the season, putting him two clear of Miloš Ninković and Alexander Baumjohann.
Jeonbuk voting is still open, and keep an eye out tomorrow for Melbourne away:
Trent Buhagiar made his first start for the season against Jeonbuk and was the clear MOTM winner, picking up more than twice the number of votes as 2nd place. It’s his first MOTM with Sydney FC, having won a 2nd- and a 3rd-place before his injury last season.
Anthony Caceres got Sydney’s first goal from outside the box for the season in the away win over Melbourne, and his second MOTM for the season. This was a big win too, as he got points from every voter and the 3rd-highest tally of this season.
Not many votes so far for the Perth match… it might be your last chance to get an entry into the raffle draw!
Luke Brattan was the clear MOTM winner, his sixth of the season. That’s twice as many as the next best, as both Milos Ninkovic and Alexander Baumjohann only have three each.
Obviously that’s not the whole story for Player of the Season, as there are all of the unlisted 2nd- and 3rd-place points, and we’ll have to see what happens with the rest of the season anyway.
But you still have about 24 hours to get in your votes for the derby. Could be your last shot at getting into the prize draw. Vote here:
I’m working on something at the moment to get player polls native inside discourse forum, editing this poll plugin to fit our 6 vote use case - How to Create Polls - faq - Discourse Meta
Should get more responses in here rather than wordpress.
Result for the win over Wellington: Trent Buhagiar got the MOTM courtesy of his match-winning double. He’s the second player to win it off the bench this season (after Tilio vs Mariners) and the 11th of all time.
Post-shutdown, we had a sub win MOTM, and now for the loss against Newcastle, it was a starter who came off after 30 minutes: Rhyan Grant taking his 3rd MOTM of the season, and the 19th of his SFC career.
Thanks for everyone who voted. Keep an eye out after Saturday’s match for the next round of voting.
Result for the loss to Melbourne City — A clear win for Andrew Redmayne, who got points from 17 out of 19 voters. The other votes weren’t spread around widely though, with 9 of the 16 players who took to the field picking up zero.
It’s Redders’ 3rd MOTM of the season, putting him level with Grant, Ninko and Baumjohann in that category. Only Brattan has more, with 7, and although that seems like a big gap, it’s a tight race after considering points for the minor placings.
Don’t forget about the end-of-season raffle where every vote gets you a ticket. Voting is still open for both Adelaide and Brisbane draws:
