2022-23 SFCU Player of the Season (voting thread)

Is that the longest gap between man of the match wins?

In terms of days (606) it’s the 11th-longest, but the top of the list includes some big gaps where the player was away from the side: three of the top five are Bobo (Apr 2018 – Mar 2021, 1081 days), Grant (Mar 2013 – Aug 2015, 881 days) and Heward-Belle (May 2019 – June 2021, 746 days).

Only counting appearances between MOTMs, Grant (50) comes in 7th, behind:

Matt Simon (Aug 2016 – Apr 2018, 60 appearances)
Alex Brosque (Dec 2015 – Feb 2018, 58 apps)
Joel King (Apr 2019 – May 2021, 58 apps)
Brandon O’Neill (Oct 2015 – Mar 2017, 55 apps)
Alex Wilkinson (Mar 2019 – Mar 2021, 54 apps)
Brandon O’Neill (Mar 2017 – Dec 2018, 51 apps)

Wow O’Neill really never got the recognition he deserved

Thanks Rowdy. I did mean appearances as I knew long term injury or stints at other clubs would skew things.

Interesting to see Brosque and Branners on that list. No surprises to see the king of kincumber at the top though. He never got enough love around here!

Branners was playing during the Ninko and Adrian era

So no MOM points for last night? THB will be disappointed.

Gurdy too, both were excellent.

Sadly, no. It would be a bit unfair to include easy friendly wins against SPL teams but not against CDSFA teams like Earlwood Wanderers.

I finally got around to tallying up the result from the derby. Andrew Redmayne got his first MOTM for the season; the 13th of his career with the club. He’s the 6th different player to win one this season.

Thanks to those who voted! We start again with the match vs Melbourne City next weekend.

Voting vs CCM open now (last week vs Melb City will still be open until about 9pm too)

6 points to the football

The football is complicit in that terrible performance.

How do we award zero for everyone?

Vs Macarthur

A bit of a drop off in vote numbers recently (understandably!), so it would be good to get a bit of a boost with a win. Rd 10 vs Newcastle open now:

Kudos if you can think of anyone who deserves points this week. The Newcastle game is still open as well :grimacing:

Christ - dishing out six points there was tough.

Where is Arlo when you need him?
