The return of a classic thread! I can’t find the template we’ve used all these years but I’ve basically recreated it below. Let me know if there’s anything obvious I’ve missed.

Fill it out and let’s all have a laugh at ourselves at the end of the season.

Ivanovic to tear shit up and take Kosta’s place in the XI around the half-way point.
Western Utd to knock Perth off in week 1 of Finals, before we then end Berisha in the same way as Muscat and Santalab in week 2.
Perth tail off in the HAL due to ACL commitments but manage to top their ACL group.
Robbie Kruse somehow dodges injury and plays every game, yet fails to register a single goal or assist.
First RBB boycott / protest is round 4, after getting hammered in the round 3 derby.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

SFC player of the season: Ninkovic, but he’s probably not as good as recent years.
SFC golden boot: ALF
First coach sacked: Kurz
Random predictions for this season:

  • We get a timeline to 14 teams.
  • Kurz loses the dressing room early and then gets sacked.
  • The FTA broadcast partner does good numbers while Fox continues to flatline. There is an improvement in attendance, however, with NWSW returning to 12k+ crowds. Until…
  • RBB cause further trouble through flares etc and we get back into the rolling cycle of suspended points sentences and threatened boycotts.
  • Sydney derbies do return to their former glory, however, with all games sold out.
  • Western United average decent crowds in Geelong (8k) but the regional trips are a flop. Work properly gets underway on their stadium however.
  • Macarthur announce a big name signing early.

Getting properly injured so that they can be replaced is probably the next-best outcome to being a fit and competent signing.

It would be worse if he had recurring niggly injuries and was always only 2-3 weeks away, meaning he could neither get replaced nor work up enough games to properly integrate and be effective. Or if he was fit but nowhere near the required standard.

So negative mate.

I’ll get my coat.

  • Craig Foster to challenge Corica to a ‘Silver Fox’ contest live on TV, causing irreparable damage to many people’s retinas
  • Major controversy at a Big Blue in Melbourne when Marco Kurz hands Michael Zullo a ball smeared in mushy potato chips to take a throw in with, with seagulls lurking menacingly. Zullo is kept out until late February as the peck marks heal
  • Rhyan Grant decides to stop washing in his pursuit of authentic dirtyness
  • Kurz to again be banned near the end of the season after a scuffle with Healthy Harold
