Australian Women’s National Team Thread - Our best chance at a World Cup

Shame Joe Montemurro ain’t getting sacked any time soon.

And also a shame that Montemurro doesn’t want the job (last time I checked).

Arnold may be free soon…

Ange too

On the surface i get the sense Arnold wouldn’t be a bad choice given the girls team is actually full of Aussie kids. Not imported ‘aussies’. If he still wants to go with the Aussie mentality thing.

Given that, what country doesn’t want to give their all to the end? I’ve read/seen/heard the same kind of mentality being mentioned from various countries teams. Never give up… Tell me what country does that?!

Maybe there’s an Aussie female Arnold out there.

So, it begins.

Kennedy has left City for angel City fc

Makes it sound like she’s died and gone to heaven.

Well football is the game they play in heaven or something

EvE to Birmingham

Wonder what salaries are like in the women’s championship… still better than here probably

Average seemed to be around £47,000 as of 2023. That would’ve been pushed up considerably by the likes of Sam Kerr earning many times that.

Thought that was top division - birmingham are in the 2nd div

Oh right. I’m not sure the stats are available, but you’d think they are a fair bit lower than that average. Don’t be surprised if the average is not enough to live on.

Maybe with EvE, Birmingham are banking on getting promoted and are paying premium to get her, which is why she’s going there.

Makes you wonder why she picked that instead of a league… maybe she just loves the weather

I imagine they sold her on going up next year and her getting another season at the top…

Matilda’s V Japan just kicked off. And yes we are wearing the new zigzag kit:man_shrugging:

Edit and the kit has jinxed us already. Already 1 down and have hardly touched the ball so far

And Japan score

I can’t think of many worse stats for a half, these numbers are very bleak.
