The commentators will be mentioning this every single match

Nkololo (25), John (24), Ayongo (25), Moresche (24) and Tulio (24). Mariner’s very clear with what they were wanting from their visa spots.

Yeah, no names

To be fair ninety percent of the league’s import slots are pretty much unknown before they arrive.

It seems like the Mariners have a direct scouting line into the Portuguese second division. Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

More excited to see how the no names pan out than I am about Nani to be honest.

Same agent who sent Max Burgess and a few others the other way?

Not sure

I’d never heard of Besart Berisha or Bruno Fornaroli before they got here. I’d only heard of Broich because I keep an eye on Nuremburg since Beauchamp and Heffernan went there in 2006.

This is all more or less a calculated gamble too - some signings won’t work, but if some do then there’s big upside for the club. Back it up with an academy that is absolutely hitting its straps and we’re looking good for the future.

Certainly there appears to be a coherent plan at least.

Vuka becomes the new Mariners captain, joining Vuka, Jamieson, Jurman/O’Neil, Brillante as our former players that are captains of other teams.

Thats 6 managers and 4 captaincy groups past Sydney FC

NTS was also Wanderers captain at one stage, so you can add him to the list.

True but I was talking about current

Ah, gotcha. Makes sense.

Vuka was CCM before SFC.

It is where they get their start that is important not which club can plunder quality.

Each of those has at least three A-League clubs on their resume, no?

I’ve had just enough of your damn logic!

Kuol selected in the U20s. Depending on when the F3 is rescheduled to, he may only play by Round 4 for Mariners. is playing U20 better for his development/ world cup chances than playing/training with Mariners even if its bench cameos.

Two of those games are against India and Kuwait, so no. That said, the U20s need to get to the Asian Cup and get more international experience there.
