Bolting from the Blue- The Central Coast Mariners Thread

Pretty sure I’d take Wood.

Kuol has been rubbish since he’s come back, Reec is inconsistent as is DWH.
They’ve signed a guy with arguably a worse record than him to take up the position that he was offered. Even if he didn’t start he would still see more meaningful game time than the 15 minutes he gets when bought on in the 83rd minute.

I realise he’s starting tonight but I’d argue he’d start more games at CCM than he would here for the remainder of the season if the transfer had gone through.

I guess we will see what the future holds. I just don’t think Wood would improve a team that hasn’t had much trouble scoring. And if that changes, it’ll be far more likely because Tulio has gone.

I cannot imagine that Wood has anything to offer CCM. Rumors.

Confirmed now

Doing a bit of late night research into this young Brazilian fella that the Mariners have signed, looks like they’ve signed a partnership with the club that he’s from as well. Could potentially see Mariners players head over there as a stepping stone to Europe.

Having said that, their partnership with Sheffield Utd (and associated clubs) hasn’t really worked out…

Closed international partnership with Central Coast Mariners Football Club (portimonensesad.pt)

Not a bad bit of business for the Mariners. They could probably get a decent foreigner every season, with the possibility of them sticking around afterwards.

Northern Spirit Rangers called, they want their shitty partnership back.

Will the Brazilian be playing by the time we head up there early February? That sounds like a fun Brazilian-filled day up in Hawaii… Gosford.

Looking forward to the trip. If we manage to beat Mariners away, which is a difficult task even in seasons where we’re solid and they’re shit, I’d be well chuffed.

Made his debut last night.

Absolutely incredibly accomplishment from the Mariners.

Got to admit I was a huge skeptic of the Jackson appointment but well and truly proved the doubters wrong

You mean the minor-premiership.

You cultural cringer.

The job-half-done trophy.

I honestly thought with Monty, Cumdingo etc leaving that CCM would be on a fast track to the spoon.

Pretty amazing they’ve won the plate. Congrats!

We’ve won it once and lost the Grand Final, and the other time we lost the prelim on penalties.

Would be great to finish the job this time.

Between 2016 and 2020 we took four wooden spoons out of five.

Now the current holders of the A-League Championship, the A-League Premiership, and now the AFC Cup.

There’s hope for the little clubs yet!
