Bit of pylon history

That was always a favourite story among students when I would take them on excursion out to the Pylon.

That museum is one of the hidden gems of Sydney. You get 60% of view you get from the bridge climb without the cost and the hassle.

Thankfully the BiL seems to have given up on his attempts to make me climb it.

I thought that name looked familiar.

The James Webb telescope has fully deployed it’s sun shield.

Back in the 80s there was a trend for pancake restaurants that served savoury filled pancakes folded like a calzone.

Anyone else remember these?

Its really hard to find a description of how they were made.

Pancakes on the rocks still does them

Looking at the menu they look more like crepes, taquitas and chimmychangas than what I’m referring to.

Yep, it was a thing.

Anyone been to Pizza Fritta in Surry Hills? Deep fried pizza pocket things, amazing

I haven’t been, but that sounds pretty bloody good.

Looks good too.

Big +1 to Pizza Fritta

Anyone got any experience and/or recommendations with watch winders?
Trying to do research and most of the options seem to have pretty unreliable testimonials.

Wolf make reasonable stuff at a fair price.

Something simple like this

or if you want more features:

I would question why you want a winder though?

Personally I can’t justify the expense and I do have some concern over premature wearing of components. I don’t think that the issues of oils coagulating in a stopped piece is that uch of a factor with modern synthetic lubticants.

I am happy to set the date/time and hand wind when I switch watches. I have a 10 watch leather Wolf box that I have been happy with for the 10 years or so I have had it.

Tbh I was going to send you a message directly rather than on here.
But yes you raise a good question, and I think I am coming around to your thinking.
I actually just got my Omega back from a service and they suggested the same as you - i.e. better to just manually make changes here and there when needed.
I have a couple of storage options so it was only the maintenance factor that I was looking to.

Save the money and buy more watches is a good strategy
