He s’ showing signs of ROT tactics, which valuable players was it Farina had training by themselves, I think Carle & Culina?. That sort of authoritarian disciplining doesn’t end well.

In the sense that one week with a completely reshaped line up is not reflective of his approach all season? Yeah I may as well have slept through the last game or so.
Its not an endorsement of Ufuk. More just a memory of how fucking bad we were under Farina.
Our complete lack of a midfield screener(s) is the reason so much pressure has been put on our low quality defense and keeper.
Um, not sure I agree with that.
I think its been the way the fullbacks have worked. They often push very high and it seems the “midfield screeners” appear to be expected to shuffle over and cover. But it hasn’t worked and it leaves both a big space behind and centrally.
That’s what this new back three is meant to fix, I’m pretty sure.
We could just sit deeper considering we also pretty much abandoned a press on Saturday.

I wonder if the club stipulates that we need to play “domineering football” I’ve heard that kind of language from board members in the past. The technical direction may be that we need to play a possession focused game. 
The other thing is, maybe we don’t have the defenders to really absorb pressure like that and its better to just spend as much time in their half as possible?

In a podcast I heard the CEO saykng something along the lines of we want to play forward football. Make of that what you will. I interpret it to be an Ange style front foot/pressing /aggressive style.
That seems to be working wonders for Ange too…
Yeah Talay’s persistence with pushing the fullbacks too high for too long is the main issue in our team.
Both sides push simultaneously which is basic errors 101 you would think.
We don’t have the defenders to play Talay’s style.
We need two above average fullback/wingbacks and we would challenge the comp.
He’s in the semis of Europa as well!

That sounds like the sort of twaddle every coach comes out with at the beginning of every season. More of a press release rather than a tactical strategy.

Like how coaches always come in and say they want to play “attacking football”?
In fairness, it’s a kinda bit of a needle to thread, for board members. They are obviously within their rights to expect a certain type of play - but their not going to expressly direct the coach on how to do his job.
I can’t watch another season like this. Genuinely.
