Was he chair or CEO at PFA?
Was he chair or CEO at PFA?
You’re right he was Chief Executive.
Massively different organisations, Foster is a divisive figure, very divisive, I’m all for him being on the board, would be a train wreck of a CEO. He’s best placed as a heart on the sleeve advocate for the game, not as a power-broker bringing complex undertakings with highly factional stakeholders to life.
I agree he would not be the best choice as head of the FFA but I would like to see Craig Forster as the head of the FIFA Ethics Committee.
Surprise, surprise…Highwood resigns as well ahead of the “restructure”.
Considering the FFA’s focus is going to be a lot narrower without the A League then this is a good move.
While I’m pretty agnostic on how most of this has gone, that’s just patently ridiculous.
How convenient…
Legal advice to the FCA says the inquiry will only be able to interview current coaching staff and FFA management, and inspect any relevant paperwork.
Other key figures in the decision to axe Stajcic may also have left the FFA by the time the review gets round to interviewing them.
Head of women’s football Emma Highwood is set to exit this week, and CEO David Gallop is currently serving out his notice too, with others also expected to leave soon after FFA 's imminent split from the A-League.
You couldn’t make that up.
Stajcic would be limited in what he can say based on the settlement though. I assume as part of the settlement he would have signed a non-disclosure agreement
That’s a valid point, but Reid, Highwood and Gallop dodging it is taking the piss.
Some potential news on Gallop’s replacement:
Sounds like a decent CV for this role. The FIFA and AFC ties would be helpful.
Johnson does sound decent choice. Without the change of focus that the new role has, you’d think a Pignata or Filopoulos would be a good fit, bit given the A-League will be separated, leaving grass roots, Socceroos and Matildas, their strengths (being most recently A-League focused) perhaps aren’t as relevant. Also agree that Johnson’s FIFA and AFC ties can’t hurt at all.
I’ve been in the A-League separation camp for a while. I think having FFA focus on grass roots and the national teams without the burden of the A-League and W-League will be a good thing.
Casserly the latest to leave FFA and avoid facing any music.
Pardon me for noticing this however with the league scheduled to start in 10 (?) days are we going to have another one of those invisible A League awareness campaigns again?
And as if by magic this came out this arvo:
Glad the busted administration of the game continues on. What would we do without it?
