Even that’s not really a thing any more.

Just had a look.
Tuesday 10am session is $30.50
Tuesday 1130am session is $25.50 on what I assume is a smaller screen.

Same prices as on the Wednesday.

Seems event have locked it behind their membership thing (which IS free, but still a bit shit)

God damn.

There’s a cinema near me that has $10 adult tickets to Kong today. $19 for their “grand recliner” seats.

Actually the Paradiso up here has tickets for $16.50. They’ll do nicely. To be honest I forgot that they existed. Avoca is the other indi on the coast but they mostly seem to do art, indi, & performance stuff these days.

Glenbrook Cinemas have $13 tickets. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned cinema from memory, but if you’re relatively local and don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for Hoyts …

They also have Flying High next Friday (8pm) and Saturday (5:15pm).

At Rhodes its $15.50 or $20.50 if you take the Titanluxe option (large electric reclining seats)

Nice little cinema. Used to go there often when I lived in the area.

Good to see that it’s still going.

Hornsby Odeon is $16 for normal tix and $10 special.

I just checked my local. Banner add for $14 tix on Tuesdays.

The ex-wife and I had memberships to the Dendy in Newtown that made the tickets cheaper. Can’t remember how much it cost but it wasn’t a whole lot.
Great little cinema and you get to have a bottle of wine while you watch the movie.

I have one of those membership and definitely worth it if you go to the movies a bit. A free ticket for your birthday, 25% off each ticket you buy and earn points so you can get more discounts.

There’s a special breed of country driver that will happily sit on 10 or 20 km/h less then the speed limit and never look in their review mirror at the traffic banking up.

And the traffic banking up will tailgate each other so when you catch up to them there’s no space for you to overtake them and trying to get 3 or 4 cars in one go is a little bit less than sensible.

Especially on the Oberon Rd which the HWP loves and it’s a double demerit weekend.

It’s the cars 1 & 2 back who refuse to overtake that are the issue.
There’s plenty of times where I’ve been caught behind a car driven by someone on their L’s or P’s where their speed is restricted or a vehicle carrying a load that slows them down. I have no problem with that.
It’s the idiots sitting 1 and 2 cars back that refuse to overtake that cause the issues.

Car lease companies. Infuriating. Along with the lack of a sophisticated lease calculator that actually explains all of the costs, what happens if you do/don’t do ECM etc etc etc.

I should be able to plug in all the info, or have them run scenarios, e.g. salary, costs, what comes out of pre-tax vs post-tax, and have a picture of what the costs are over the life for 1,2,3,4 year leases etc.

But no. They just try to tell you that you’ll save a tonne of money (most of which is the GST saving on purchase price - but doesn’t highlight the FBT cost element).

I guess if they actually showed you the detail you’d question why they are adding a huge margin into the lease cost when you don’t choose self managed. Cunts.

Fucking hayfever making things unbearable at the moment, antihistamine which I normally take in the morning to get through the day wears off during the night, so keep waking with a hectic cough. Spring in Europe is a great time of the year, but I struggle badly with this every year and symptoms seem to start earlier each year.

My eyes are burning from the walk to work this morning and I can’t seem to walk around outside without looking like I’m crying.

Try choosing between the hayfever, or taking the tabs and coping the stomach cramps because lactose.

I was hoping that I had hay fever yesterday but it has turned into a common or garden variety u.r.t.i. Not Covid, not influenza A, not influenza B, but a shitty cold.
Driving to Thredbo tomorrow for a weeks bushwalking in the rain.
Pissed off mightily.
Guess I will just have to sit in the pub by the fire for a week.

I have several friends that swear by this (their words):

Tip for hay fever sufferers: I just went to get my prescription nose spray repeat made up and was told it’s been rescheduled and can now be bought without a script (and a chunk cheaper too). It’s legit better than anything else I’ve tried and I’m sure I’ve tried pretty much all of them. Dymista, get onto it https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/130472/dymista-allergy-nasal-spray-120-dose

but yeah its good, not just for allergies but for reducing swelling and aggravated sinus to actually bring you down to a comfortable baseline instead of being constantly reactive to inflammation

given my allergy-specialist told me its the best thing you can do short of full immuno-therapy… its crazy its not on the PBS

Had a quick look and it’s Prescription only in the UK, but maybe worth talking to my GP to get a prescription.

I take Fexofenadine now, which is the best relief I get out of everything I’ve tried, it was prescribed to me about 5 years back, but has since been allowed on general sale here.

Nasonex spray is pretty good as well, but this is apparently better if that’s an option for you too.

Also apparently you get tolerance so changing it up every year or two is supposed to be helpful. I don’t suffer from it but this is just from what they’ve been saying.
