Israel v Everyone - M.A.D or Peace in the Middle East?

And a Phalanx has a range of fuck all, so no use at those speeds?

I guess it would depend on what the target was as to the course of action if you did use a Phalanx as the debris would provide a serious issue.

If one missile was to be hitting a runway then you would probably shoot it down. Multiple fragments of missile will do less damage than 1 direct hit.
A decision would need to be made if it was heading towards a populated area. Do you take one big hit on a building or risk 100’s of bits of debris hitting multiple buildings?

Well, it looks like Israel doesn’t have to make that choice because Iran is targetting military targets.

Unlike those Israeli Terrorists.

PFLP is reporting its leaders have just been assassinated. Has nothing to do with any missiles fired out of southern Lebanon or Iran, given they are godless communists.

Of course not.

Israel has decided on enacting genocide and is getting away with.

First satellite images of the airbase have come out only showing 4 impacts, 1 hitting a building used for maintenance of C-130’s

Who knows if there are other parts of the airbase hit though. Have these been released to try and portray damage was only minimal (while hiding more significant damage) or was this the only damage?

Iran isn’t ONLY targeting military targets. Let’s not ignore the dozens of missiles that were intercepted over Tel Aviv. And let’s not let disdain and dislike for the Israeli government and its wartime tactics to paint the Iranian regime as the moral good guys.

Let’s not ignore that if Israel wasn’t a belligerent terrorist state that has launched a pogrom of genocide on the Palestinian people that Iran would not have launched any missiles.

Isreal is the aggressors. Remember that.

Fucking get over it then.

I think there’s a tendency to lionise resistance to oppression, and I definitely don’t want to do that. Iran under the ayatollahs pursues a geopolitical agenda for specific reasons, both due to the history of imperialism against their country that came before their revolution and to maintain their justifications for oppressive rule at home.

That being said, Israel has massacred civilians - the Lancet estimates well upwards of 10% of the population of Gaza - for a year straight. You can’t turn around and Helen Lovejoy about missiles at the major cities which largely appeared to be diversionary. Iran clearly had intelligence on the base for the F-35s being used to attack another sovereign nation and they went after it.

They are all cunts. Israel just coming off as the biggest.

And when you make Iran look like somewhat of a good guy, you should probably take a long hard look in the mirror.

ATM, Iran is a fucking lot closer to being a good guy than Israel.

This isn’t so much a reflection on Iran as to how fucking evil Israel has become.

Genuine question: if you could replace only one regime with a hypothetical, relatively stable, democratic and popularly supported alternative, would you choose Iran or Israel?

I think I’d choose Iran.

Hypothetically, Israel already is a relatively stable, democratic and popularly supported regime.

A regime that thinks genocide is a viable answer, voted into power by the populous.

At least Iran might have a chance.

Let’s not forget that Netanyahu stands to be imprisoned the moment he isn’t in office.

Or that he has instructed the military to control the media.

Allyson Horn (ABC Journalist) could not report the full scale of the Iranian missile strikes due to the media censorship laws that have been put in place by the Israeli Government.

But we’re not allowed to criticise this. Israel will hide behind their magic protection; “Anti-Semitism”.

So we will stand by and watch this semetic people annihilate another semetic people.

We will do this because Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran are all the protection that the Palestinians have left. And we don’t like what they do. We don’t mind it when our allies do it. But we don’t like it when people we’ve decided are “the other side” do it.

We don’t like it when Russia does it. But we don’t mind it when Israel does it.

We will annihilate them to dust.

I’m not sure what they have a chance to do. Their work in Syria hasn’t been admirable, and their control of their own population is fucking horrible, so we’re really not talking about the forces of light here, even if they are not the western brand of colonialism. Israel has done tremendous work this past year that people are asking those questions though.

If you hypothetically turn Iran into a relatively stable, democratic and popularly supported regime.

Israel has failed in this regards. But if you can throw a switch and do Iran, they might have a chance to be a relatively stable, democratic and popularly supported regime.

They’ll send a few more missiles now and Israel will survive. The instability in the region will enable Israel to strike back, flying over Syria and that will be that. If Iran somehow Iran does have the resources to keep attacking Israel, Israel will just use their nukes.

Gotcha.
I’d definitely choose Iran too if that was the question. But the problem with Israel isn’t in the democracy axis. I’m not sure what it is, maybe the need to understand that if you’re going to make peace, it’s with your enemies that you have to do that.
