Israel v Everyone - M.A.D or Peace in the Middle East?

They’ve been pretty open for a while about that

So Israel’s used chemical weapons on UN peacekeepers.

oh well, boys will be boys… they reportedly went into a UN army camp as few days earlier. I think I read something that most of the UN forces withdrew from their positions, however the Dutch refused to move

I guess its okay if a U.S. ally does it …

Israel hit a hospital that had a displaced persons camp in the courtyard. 4 dead and scores injured, most of the injured are due to the camp going up in flames. There’s also video of the firefighters being shot at and using crude barricades as they tried to extinguish the blaze…

The US has apparently cut off 50% of their military aid to Israel, which is interesting. They’ve also given Israel 30 days to comply with a list of aid demands, or face losing US military support. They include the requirement for a minimum number of trucks going into Gaza, ceasefires to allow aid workers in and other such demands.

I think it’s clear by this point Israel doesn’t care.

They’re pushing themselves into a very dangerous position. They’re pissing off the French, Brits and Germans and now the US. The more they do, the more untenable their positions gets. If they push it so hard that their NATO partners withdraw military support, Iran is going to have a field day

There’s going to be nothing left of Gaza and very little left of Lebanon in 30 days time.

All that the US ultimatum has done is give Israel a deadline to complete their genocide. They’ll then attack Iran knowing that the US won’t be able to not give them military support.

The US is just Israel’s bitch at this point.

Yeah, Biden has boxed himself into a corner big time by unconditionally supporting Israel up to this point. You can just see recalling that unconditional support being taken advantage of by not just Netanyahu but by the GOP, and it affecting the election. Biden is an absolute moron.

Air defence is currently active in Tehran

The US statement was that “israel closed the exhange of fire” and Iran says " we are obliged to return fire". This reminds me of when me and a mate used to punch each other in the arm and say “no, NOW we’re even” in high school.

It’s literally like watching my kids at home at this stage, fucking hell.

I read that Israel sent out 200 aircraft for the attack. Which does beg the question whether they violated Iraqi airspace. Syria matters less considering they’re still technically in a state of war. An interesting thing I read, Israel hasn’t invested huge amounts of money in long range missiles. They’ve invested more in aircraft rather than anything else. Iran on the other hand, has gone the other way, investing more in missiles than aircraft

This is a short doco from a French TV network called Arte so it’s in French with English subtitles.

It’s about ultra orthodox elements of Israel society and how those elements have the same views as the government and how their goal is the removal of Palestine completely.

Old instructor of mine told me to remember you aren’t even until you are one up.

It’s funny when it’s pranks, not funny when you have ballistic missiles.

Thanks, I’ll definitely be giving that a watch.

There’s multiple segments of Israeli society who have this view though, including some which are very secular and “pragmatic” about it, rather than believing it has anything to do with manifest destiny.

“You entered Gaza (after Hamas’s October 7, 2023, onslaught) to take revenge — as much as possible. [Against] women, children — everyone you saw. As much as possible. That’s what you wanted,” said Uriah Ben-Natan, the brother of 22-year-old Sgt. First Class (res.) Shuvael Ben-Natan

“You were the happiest and biggest goofball in the platoon. We realized this for the first time when you set a house on fire without approval in order to boost morale,”

Totally normal people from the most moral army.

Israeli military has suggested that they’ve done all the can in Gaza and Lebanon from a military point of view. There’s now a bit of a push for politicians to get involved and strike deals. I mean there’s still plenty of dangerous unarmed civilians around, but the Israeli military must be getting tired of killing people that don’t fire back…

Haven’t you seen the damage those dirt rocks do to the tanks?
It can’t be much fun having to go back and wash all the dirt off after it mixes in with all that innocent blood.
