Yeah it was during my uni days so I actually watched it as daytime tv was a thing, and the comment wasn’t anything about alleged involvement with minors, more a reference to “cottaging”, and so more of a homophobic reference really, although with some validity due to the hide of the cunt to be “conservative”.

Cabinet papers published by the National Archives on Monday show the full cabinet signed off on the decision on 18 March 2003 based on “oral reports by the prime minister”.
Just amazing. Even assuming that there was documentary intelligence and analysis outside the cabinet process I still find that extraordinary.
It shows the level of respect/fear that Howard commanded at the Cabinet table, and even the joint party room, that they didn’t say “can you at least put forward a written submission”.
For context, he’d won the 1998 election and delivered a GST and company and income tax cuts, and he’d won the 2001 election from well behind in the polls (and despite the Tampa and September 11, the worm had already begun to turn after decisions on fuel tax excise helped the government win the Aston by-election) so the party room probably viewed him like a sun god, but still…
Cant help but assume the worst when Howard and co are involved though be honest. Combined with this little omission there’s certainly room for fuckery from Howard/ Ruddock and co.
