A Better Tomorrow is such a great picture.
A Better Tomorrow is such a great picture.
I like all his Chow Yun Fat collaborations, Hard Boiled is my personal fave. I found 2 I haven’t seen, Bullet in the head and Heroes Shed no Tears.
Bullet in the Head is one of those movies that I was blown away by and thought was incredible, but was too painful to ever revisit.
Jacky Cheung does amazing work in that one.
The shooting scenes in Hard Boiled are like ballet. I loved that film so much.
I was blown away when I first saw it, it was like nothing else around.
This.
Such a great film but it will mess with your head for a while afterwards.
The behind the scenes work on how they shot the hospital shootout is incredible.
Have now seen Dune 2 twice. We’re not getting something this good again for years.
Interesting, I found Dune 2 less good than the first one. Still an above average film but maybe it just didn’t live up to the hype for me. Definitely worth seeing on the biggest screen you can though.
I am so keen to see it.
Watched The IronClaw last night. Really enjoyed it - I’m sure the story is way darker than actually portrayed (especially the father). Should be en enjoyable wiki hole coming up.
I’d probably give Dune: Part Two an 8/10 and Part One an 8.5/10. Definitely agree with CountArach that you must see it on a big screen.
I enjoyed Dune 2 a lot but for various story reasons I found it less emotionally engaging than the first one.
Apologies for the news link. Holdovers writer accused of plagiarism.
Saw Dune 2 today.
Unimpressed. Wasn’t huge on the first one either but this one was just… odd.
Don’t get it.
If you think that is odd, you’re in for a shock come the next movie or two, if they decide to do them. Denis Villeneuve apparently isn’t that keen on doing them.
Dev Patel’s Monkey Man is out on April 4th, looks brilliant.
It really does look amazing, good that Jordan Peele convinced someone to get theatrical distribution for it, will be great on a big screen.
Yeah keen for it. Some good movies out lately, hoping that keep the trend going
Watched Oppenheimer over the weekend. 3hrs and it didnt feel like I absorbed anything that I couldn’t have been entertained by with Wikipedia during a lunch break. I did enjoyed the soundtrack. Far from trash but by far my least favourite of all Nolan’s films.
I didn’t need 45 minutes of a guy fighting to keep his security clearance.
