Watched Coda last night. Holy shit, that is one exceptional movie!
Watched Coda last night. Holy shit, that is one exceptional movie!
The vibe of a police system in breakdown, utterly unequipped for the modern world and unwilling to reform itself away from authoritarianism. The writing is sharp and incisive with the trademark dark humour of Bong Joon Ho. The performances are very strong and really pull off the other things. The ending also just really hits right for me.
Oh and the number of fly kicks in that movie is extraordinary.
I admit I don’t recall Parasite well and I only watched it once, but I can’t recall fly kicks or a broken police system.
Oh I thought you were talking about Memories of Murder
‘Animal Kingdom’ heck of a picture, somehow had escaped my attention until now.
I especially enjoyed hearing a snippet of Tony Greig’s cricket commentary in the background of a scene and as soon as the movie ended I went searching to find the match that the character was watching. An enjoyable little sleuth.
100% sure this was the match
How did you even begin to start looking for that match?
You can hear Tony Greig talking about Sangakkara thinking he’s got the bails off, so it must be a run out or a stumping I figure, and then the characters start talking for a second about Muralitharan, so he’s got to be the bowler.
Had a look at Sri Lanka tours of Australia, checked that the SL uniform for the year matched and found in that match Michael Clarke was out stumped by Sanga off the bowling of Murali.
Although I couldn’t find the footage of the match to match the clip on tv in the movie, I’m pretty confident all the details match up.
Nah Parasite. It was ok. But I don’t think it matched the hype.
I’m curious about what I missed there.
I am so sorry. Though I made a bigger mistake and actually watched it at the cinema
Mila Kunis is my celebrity freebie, so I would excuse a lot to see her looking so awesome on the big screen, as she did in Jupiter Ascending.
Black Bag - really enjoyed it, top shelf Steven Soderbergh.
Smarter than the usual spy thriller, stylish, fun and lots of twists and turns. Thumbs up.
