Corica reminds me of a kid role-playing as what he thinks a manager is supposed to be, it’s just awkward watching him trying to be all inspirational and trying to fire people up and man, does he whine a lot. Juric on the other hand is great.

Just watched the latest episode.
It’s no surprise they’re featuring the girls more and more.
That 0-2 defeat to Newcastle was a hard watch. Newcastle with practicality their whole squad out with COVID. That was a tough one.
Was pointed out to me that on the men’s side it’s focusing a lot on the same one or two players, and perhaps Michelle Morris didn’t need that much screen time. Still enjoying it, though.
Thank god for the Women’s team. Would have been a pretty bleak season otherwise
I’d forgotten how good Trent looked in that derby at Kogarah. If he could be that clinical all the time, wow.
I know it’s been touched on in the show, but I didn’t realize just how ‘outdated’ our facilities are at Macquarie Park. Obviously the new Sky Park will address all this, but I think one of our directors called it a ‘glorified toilet block’, and it really does kinda look like that. I’m starting to understand to a degree why Alessandro Del Pierro wanted his own separate changing room. Still made him an arrogant prick for it, but the facilities certainly don’t scream ‘professional football club’. Using rubbish bins as ice baths is a bit embarrassing too.
Not that uncommon. They’re available, cheap and the right size.
Yeah, went down to Macquarie to interview Rodwell and I was a bit surprised. I wouldn’t call it rundown but outdated is certainly fair.
As you say, the club are addressing the issue.
Hard disagree, I think it’s great to focus in on one or two big fans. That’s one of the things that makes these documentaries tick.
Is she on this forum? Kudos to her for her support
Speaking of Paramount+, I signed up late last year in November with the discount code. I have another month to go, but wanted to utilise the new code in case it expired.
I cancelled my existing plan so it doesn’t renew at full price, paid my $75, and I got a club from the email acknowledging my payment.
But how does that translate to an extension of my P+ subscription? Any help? Cheers.
When did you pay your $75? You should get an email with your code 1 business day after payment.
Should show in your profile when it expires?
I paid just a few hours ago. So the code will be emailed to me in a day or so. Cheers.
Finally watching this now. My favourite thing is the awesome shots of Sydney harbour in between scenes.
Corica to Talbot: “This is your fucking opportunity. You fucking make the fucking most out of it.”
Maybe Callum stays if Stevie’s a bit more polite?
Just finished watching episode 3 tonight. I’m traditionally pro-Corica as a coach based on his results, but I’d have to say that the difference between him and Arnie is quite apparent. Arnie lifted the team with positive reinforcement, whereas Corica seems to just swear a lot doesn’t really come across as inspiring.
Ante Juric on the other hand, he is the type of person who I’d want to be my boss - supportive, positive, empathetic. At this point, I see him as a better man player manager than Corica.
Not sure whether Juric’s teddy bear mantra would work in the men’s game. But I agree with you on Corica - the doco paints him as a pretty awful motivator.
Juric wouldn’t carry that same approach over to a full time professional men’s team. A male simply can’t aggressively bark out expletives, purple faced with the hair dryer out expecting part time women to get on board. Would be an extremely uncomfortable environment. Not saying that’s ever the go anyway but comparing one extreme to the other.
His managerial style appears to have been quite effective at Sydney Olympic…
We need a Steve Corica swear compilation, stat
