Well it is, even if completely out of proportion. It has occurred after the October 17 attack which was clearly designed to elicit a āresponseā. Not sure what else they were going to achieve in that one. It certainly want a back down or total victory. It was the death of thousands of Palestinians, however unjustly.

I think your first sentence is pretty much called ātotal warā. However this isnāt really a war due to the hugely lopsided nature and Iām certainly not going to argue for it in any way.

If every time a country invaded another country they were kicked out by FIFA, weād have lost Argentina in 1982, and countless others besides.
If every time a militia with state sponsorship committed terrorism against neighboring civilians FIFA kicked them out, half of Latin America and Africa would have been banned over the last 50 years.
If every time a government commits genocide they were kicked out by FIFA, weād have lost Sri Lanka in 2007 and many more besides.
Russia is the exception here, not the rule.
