I totally get it. There’s definitely a mental thing involved and there’s also different people’s pain thresholds. I’d be reluctant to criticize an athlete about any of that.

I don’t think anybody has anything personal against Rodwell in terms of him as a person. I think it’s more frustration at the situation with his body, combined frustration at the fact that Corica, and the club decided that he was the best option alongside an ageing Wilkinson, paying him a handsome sum for the privilege.
The fact that Wilko got injured in our season opener, and we’ve been left with the weakest defense since the Farina days, means that unfortunately for him, Rodwell also becomes a scapegoat.
I’m sure Rodwell himself doesn’t want to be permanently injured. I’m sure the bloke wants to be playing 90 minutes week in, week out, contributing to the team and trying to get us out of the hole that we currently find ourselves in.
I mean it worked initially on Zullo didn’t it? He came to us with a huge injury history and excelled for years.
Rodwell should be on the gym doing nothing but deadlifts and Nordic curls.

I guess it means they can continue to do their traditional violence and intimidation outside the ground after the game, in the knowledge that it steers clear of violating the suspended points conditions.
I understand that the decision to sign him ultimately came down to the club and the club is ultimately accountable but the bloke’s a grifter. He has reoccurring injuries so frequent that he should change professions but rather he is swindling clubs for hundreds of thousands of dollars year after year. If he was a plumber he would’ve been a star on A Current Affair.
