Round 18 - Sydney FC vs Western Sydney - 28/02/2020

It’s dry as a bone at Dee Why. Just move it to Brookvale and be done with it

Club has confirmed:

No date yet for a replacement but I’ve seen Wednesday thrown around as an idea given our ACL game is off.

Isn’t it meant to still be raining through Wednesday?

It’s forecast to rain on wednesday so gotta postpone it!

only good thing is hopefully we play a game where ABJ is suspended, so he can play this one.

The lizard men at the FFA sure have outdone themselves this time.

Yeah but Tuesday is supposed to be mostly clear and Wednesday isn’t likely to be apocalyptic so there might be enough opportunity for the pitch to dry.

Play it at bankwest

They had vision on Fox Sports News, fair bit of surface water kicking up when people just walked across it. If the rain was done it would drain, but with a shitload more to come it’s obviously the right call. The groundsman and O’Rourke said “the bucket is already full and we can’t turn off the tap”.

We’ve all seen FFA push ahead in questionable weather before, the fact it’s a derby, on FTA etc means if they’re making this call now they really had no choice.

I used to play in the rain/mud quite often. The amount of extra strain it puts on your lower back and especially knees is huge. You spend half the game trying not to fall over/go through someone. It’s the smart decision to postpone

Didn’t really fancy going to Kogarah in apocalyptic rain so ok with the decision.

I feel I made the right choice.

Masso’s are clearly tougher…and have a plastic pitch

NWSW fans were celebrating two small wins in suspension of ABJ as well as appointment of the Iranian ref who won them the last derby.

Would love for ABJ to score the winner in the delayed game, and for Beath to rule out a legit goal for them.
