Got an audi Q2 which is very zippy and very fun to drive. Got some nice kick, not sure on the price though. Only issue is, with a baby seat, there’s limited room up the front

It’s very volkswagen-ish in here…
On that topic…Anyone here go in for a Passat or Skoda wagon? Looking for something spacious that isn’t a tarmac-only SUV. Or any other decent wagons to recommend?
Are you looking at new or used?
An ex of mine got a Skoda vehicle and was forever dealing with mechanical problems, despite the vehicle being only a year or two old at most, as well as questionable servicing. Avoid buying any Skoda vehicle.
Usually buy 3-4 yo then look for higher specifications models. Wife loves the extra gadgets. I’ve been fortunate enough to never have had a lemon so warranty wasn’t a decider. Tbh if Toyota made their camry hybrid as a wagon I’d be all over that.
brother has a Skoda Sedan. Has low profile tires and hates it with the number of flats. Another mate has a wagon and no real issues. He absolutely loves the boot space
It’s just a Golf.
Much like the A3s and S3s and Q2s mentioned here. They’re all just Golfs.
There’s millions of them that work just fine.
My daughter and her husband have an Octavia wagon, probably 6 years old. No issues, Nice car to drive. Two kids under six, car can handle the equipment required as well as the two or three annual pilgrimages back from Vic.
Never driven a Passat, I’d definitely have it on my list though
Mazda 6 wagon nice too, if a bit expensive. If I was replacing my car, I’d be looking hard at a Ford Mondeo, particularly the diesel version, although the mileage I do these days probably wouldn’t justify the cost .
Wagons are becoming rarer than hens teeth due to the relentless growth of the SUV segment. To my mind, a wagon is almost always a better option
Was on my short list when I was looking. Narrowed it down to a 6 or a Commodore. Ended up with the Holden has it was cheaper at the same condition/mileage.
The newer Mazda 6 wagons are lovely cars, father in law has one.
Prius is surprisingly roomy…
So eFuel……thoughts?
I’ve had two of those as rental cars while I’ve been in NZ. Great little cars and they do love the bends and would seriously consider it if I ever upgrade from my Mazda 2.
Not sure I need one in this colour though;
Our business unit manager for HSS has one in the exact same colour. She’s ridiculed behind her back, justifiably so…
As someone who loves internal combustion engines, I hope it’s viable, but my experience of these things is when it’s big business pushing it, and it sounds too good to be true - it probably is…
Do any of you have a biking license and a motorbike?
I’ve considered it because it might be a better investment for a single person inner city, but I’m about to turn 32 and it might be seen as bordering on like a pre/peri-midlife crisis…Not that I give too much of a shit about that, although I did laugh when my older brother got a scooter, so, my bad.
Yeah I’ve had my licence for a while and had a couple of bikes.
If you’re just doing local movement then a scooter is fantastic. There’s no need to worry about gears, they’re cheaper to fix because they are made in humongous numbers across asia, and they’re really easy to handle (lighter than a full sized bike & the step through just makes it really easy).
A couple of things I’d recommend. Don’t take them on motorways. Get proper protective gear. Listen to the instructors about defensive riding. The guys I had on my L’s course were really good.
Someone mentioned vinyl wraps earlier - has anyone had that done? I’d prefer a different colour than black (visibility and heat reduction) but a full spray would presumably be quite expensive. If a wrap is affordable and will do the job it sounds good.
Is there any lingering effect on the existing paint job if they’re removed for resale?
That colour is brilliant and I can’t believe you swapped if for that boring blue colour.
