Let’s just say if the club knew what they were doing, he wouldn’t have passed his rego check before he signed on

They paid cash at the dodgy mechanics that doesn’t even have a name next to the old Ampol somewhere to scrape him througb
A player not fulfilling their potential or their expected performance level due to injury (pre-existing or incurred during contract) is frustrating and disappointing.
THIS is embarrassing.
I dunno, I think it is embarrassing (to our club) because the player is actually performing exactly to their expected level (with the ups and downs) as evidenced by a decade long career. It might not be as meme embarrassing, but it has IMO hampered us more than vedrans brain farts did them. The cost in PPG illustrated in this thread would take a lot of dodgy errors by VJ to be matched. Factor in the wage and visa spot (and what it does to our ability to adjust) and I think we did worse,.and it is embarrassing.
My missus just casually said “how much has Jack Rodwell actually played this season?”.
Thanks to this thread, I responded “I can answer that. Exactly.”
Can we see it as a pie chart out of all minutes played this season, though…
Pie charts are more offensive than Kevin Muscat
But what if it’s a 3D pie chart with shading?
Shading and very strong primary colours sure! let’s make it 3D just for fun
The strong primary colours could be be broken up by taking multiple photoshop copies of a torn meniscus and arranging them in a houndstooth pattern.
Round 12 Update
So the next couple of months will be an exercise in watching the played minutes per game slowly decaying to nothing, and the required minutes ballooning up towards (and likely beyond) 90.
Since not much will happen in this time, I’ll save some of the analysis on when we get past the 90 required for various scenarios in terms of how far we make it into the finals this season, but on current form, he needs to get back on the pitch by Round 19 to be able to reach the 946 in the regular season, before we sit back and watch 6 better teams go on to contest the finals.

(please note the edited nature of the rows included above. Have just kept milestone ones)
As you can see above, the required minutes per game (45) is not quite as bad as the situation we were at after R7. It’s just the medical prognosis which makes the situation so dire.
We’ll be stuck on 271 minutes for a while. Last season, we didn’t pass that mark until round 21. However, last season we played 3 finals games, which is looking a longs-odds prospect this time around, particular without JR on the pitch for so much of the remaining time. So the irony is that we need him on the pitch so that we can have enough games left for his on-pitch time to hit our goal. That’s the multiplier effect of the mythical 946!
The great thing about being away & turning your brain off whilst the kids disappear somewhere is the ability to watch trash TV which I don’t have time for usually. There is this show called “Wheeler Dealer” that I’ve been zoning out to. Some pommy car dealer buys some old car somewhere & then he drives it to his mechanic who has to fix all of the problems for a budget so that they can sell it for a small or large profit depending on the market for it.
Watching this show got me to thinking about Jack Rodwell. He’s the car with a myriad of problems that we’re fixing for a budget as it seems to me that the dealer ( recruitment ) may or may not have known about these problems & has been hoping that the wheeler ( strength/conditioning/medical ) could have patched them over without really giving them to budget to do so because at some point we’re going to have to sell him.
The amount of patching up that has been done on JR seems to me to have been done up to a point as someone knows that some sort of profit is going to be have to made on this at some point. Now that he has long term injured again the wheeler/dealer are going to have to have a difficult conversation as to whether this is sustainable.
Rodwell is a Leyland P76. The wheeler/dealer was always going to be pushing shit up hill to get mileage out him. Some cars don’t even belong in the scrap yard. They need to be cubed and shredded.
Is this about my cube?
