The Kit Discussion Thread

I thought the 3rd kit was quite a good compromise in that the kennards logo colours match the kit, rather than the red.

I do like the irony that your username is webjet4eva and the webjet logo was arguably the worst we’ve had so far

I miss webjet, at least it didn’t make me feel uncomfortable advertising a casino.

I agree. Was speaking in terms of the logo design being the worst. The Star logo at least looks decent, but I hate the fact that we’re sponsored by a casino.

I’m more than happy for the club to be sponsored. I Would never suggest otherwise. But I don’t play for the club so I don’t want to be a walking billboard. I can deal with one logo but 2 or more is a bit much. I’d rather spend my money on a training shirt/hat etc.

I bought a plain polo last year that just has the club crest and the puma logo on it. I love it. The UA ones that the team have been wearing look good too, so hopefully they’ll make those available too.

I love the Star sponsorship because I know how it gets the Puritan wowsers all angry and worked up.

So anyone who objects to casinos and their special treatment, ability to ignore the law and absence of real consequences for the damage they do to addicts is a puritan wowser?

Fuck the fucking fuck off ya twat.

Well it certainly got Jubal worked up at least, the big Scottish wowser.

Agree with the casino but I don’t see a distinction between them and say McDonalds that preys on poor families and kids with their shit food, only contributing towards the obesity and diabetes present in society.

A limited edition player spec shirt is now available in the online store ($160). Which implies that materials, design and cut slightly vary between replicas and player worn shirts (it was allegedly the same during the Puma years). Also, the shirt is still sold as sponsor-less which is weird.

The distinction is that every single human being on earth needs to eat. Even with a shitty Macca’s meal, you are able to obtain some fuel to continue your existence.
No-one needs to have a punt to exist.

If a sponsors business is legal then I have no issues with taking their money. Booze, gambling, ciggys whatever

Looks like the rest of the merch range will start popping up over the next week or so

My missus just provided today’s anecdote from Browntown, while lunching at the Westpoint food court a toddler’s empty milk bottle was refilled with Coke from Macca’s. Kid now has Coke “bottle” to suck on in one hand, apple juice in the other, under 2 years old.

So yeah, it’s shit food and iirc there was some study in the US about how there are proportionately more fast food joints in poorer neighbourhoods. But also some people are just irresponsible cunts who have no business reproducing in the first place.

Maccas just shits me as they purposefully target kids and poor families, especially with happy meals and the amount of sugar they have in all their crap. I don’t blame a lot of poor families, in fairness, if you’re on a tight budget, $20 for a full dinner to feed the family is a pretty good option.

Agree that some parents are just f*cked. Fast food should always be a treat rather than the norm.

I did actually know a family that went the other way, their 14 year old kid had never tried soft drink in his life.

The A-League has a feature on its website showing all 15 of our home regular season kits in a gallery:

Any that particularly catch people’s eye? I still unironically like the pinstripe kits, particularly the 12/13 vintage.
