Scotty Mac also led the most laps and came 6th.
The last two laps from Newgarden and Ward were fucking epic.
Even the Coca Cola 600 was better. Stock car has some epic strategy which I’m led to believe really appeals to F1 stalwarts.
The big, big issue with Indycar thou is where it sits on our timetable. Basically first thing Monday morning.
I don’t know what development benefit we get from F1 anymore. The ICE is redundant. Hybrid is mostly redundant. Aerodynamics in the sense of wings and things are pointless below 160km/h. And what benefit from a tyre development POV do we get that can’t be achieved in spec racing?
From an Entertainment POV, Indycar shits on Formula 1 from a great, great height.
F1 has the glamour, the prestige and the best drivers. But Indycar has the racing. All those arguments about Hamilton and Max being in the same car? Indycar could give it to you.

SVG gets his first Xfinity series win on the road course in Portland. Pretty good racing and a surprisingly clean battle for the win after the last re-start.

It’s wild that SVG could win that race with an off like that.
It’s wild that those cars look so horrible on a race circuit but are still more entertaining than most F1 races.
It’s wild that SVG can be a 20 or so runner on an oval and then win a circuit race.

Doesn’t mean that he’ll necessarily see that deal out. Perez has probably been signed up with some ridiculous clause like “we can drop you if you finish below P2 in the driver’s championship”. Red Bull just signed Tsunoda to their second team for another year. Surely Tsunoda would be in their thoughts if Perez were suddenly dropped from the main team.

SVG set him up beautifully and juuuuust got a legal pass on him and dropped Hill down to 5th.
And how did Max win the F1 and how id Scotty Mac lose the Indycar?
