Yeah, you tend to get new contracts when you win stuff and perform probably better than expected.
It is absolute madness that NSWRL even offered him a contract extension at all. He doesnāt deserve it based on the last couple of years.

To be fair, its not MrRooney who is saying that should be the case. Itās worked okay for Queensland. The difference is that they donāt choose morons for the role.

The other major issue that led to a flare up was the NSW Rugby League told Fittler he needed to take a hit to his $450,000 plus a year annual salary.

Although, horizontal red & black stripes/hoops are now cursed. Still, a certain degree of nostalgia for the Bears is there, having grown up in the area in the 90s and early 00s, even if my family wasnāt much into RL. Hornsby was our regular rissole but when we went to the āfancyā club, it was NS Leagues.
In particular I remember Stewart & Armstrong Smash Repairs on High Street Chatswood (Near Willoughby/North Willoughby) near where I had piano lessons for many years was painted completely in Bears stuff.
Speaking of rugby league nostalgia, I got a ball like this from Maccaās which my brother borrowed and promptly lost it up a tree at high school. Not that Iām still bitter or anything.

True. The north has been red & black at least 112 years before the Wanderers even existed, starting with Northern Suburbs RU. Even junior athletic colours in the area are red & black. I do support the Bears ice hockey side. Red, black and white.

I had one that I proceeded to play against my brother inside. the house That decision may or may not have resulted in a head injury for myself at one point!
Just thinking back, it was disgraceful that they kicked Norths out of the comp. So much history, over 100 years down the drain
They didnt kick Norths out. They CHOSE to become merged scum and they lost out.
I feel sorry for their fans, but management made that choice.

Mariners should consider it somewhat of a blessing. I think a brand-new stadium without a tenant probably helped their bid.
Pretty much. The Bear threw in all their chips in moving up to Gosford and the horrible wet weather farked them meaning the stadium was opened late.

Kinda wish they had of been able to turn North Sydney oval into a rectangular stadium that held 15-20k. Sublime.
Itās such a waste as it is now, local sports get a good run - but itās falling apart and never likely to get any meaningful investment as it is.
