When it’s bloody hot and humid, not much goes down better than a Blackfish!
Should be illegal to drink below the tropic of Capricorn though.

If you’re concerned by alcohol volume might I suggest something like Polish Pure Spirit?
It starts at about 96%. Dilute down to what you want.
A full percentage abv drop changes the flavour, and the mouthfeel of the beer.
I don’t think its as good as it was, and it appears to only be for the Australian market.
So don’t buy Becks made for the Australian market?
Or, maybe try some other lager?
I’m confident that any lager not made for the Australian market will be better than a lager made for the Australian market.
One good thing about craft beer, it taught me that I don’t actually like hops very much. At least, not if it’s very strong with that flavour. If it’s used subtly, no problem.
Oh, and anyone who brews a strawberry chocolate stout or pickled cucumber and lime radler or somesuch monstrosity needs a punch in the head. Or worse, be forced to drink it.
How do you feel about sherbet sours?
A bit too Braithwaite for me
Howzat for a reply
Anyone else just get the email from Allianz Stadium, welcoming us to concert season now the sporting season is over?
Yep. Isn’t that just fantastic?
What am I missing?
The continuation of the trust attitude (I know the trust isn’t a thing any more) that league & cricket are the only things that matter for Moore Park. Oh and concert money now too.
Summer in concert season now they can do way more concerts there, everyone knows that.
Bit late to the Mountain Culture discussion but i met DJ & his mrs a couple of years ago in a work capacity. Had a good chat, they seemed like pretty solid people. The Katoomba venue is excellent. They said that the mail order beer is basically what kept the business afloat during covid. They might have some money behind them but it’s not crazy unlimited money.
Like, it’s ok. But excellent?
I went there and thought it great - aside from the opening hours
It’s small, in a poor location.
If it was where the cafe is in the cultural centre, that would be excellent.
It is if you know what the place looked like before MC took it over. The renovation is impressive.
What’s wrong with the location? Seemed fine.
Plus they were very accommodating for my 5 yo and had great tunes playing so two thumbs up from me.
Park St, Next to the fire station is not prime Katoomba location.
It’s out of the way to everything else. And it’s small.
