There doesn’t seem to be any good locations in Katoomba… i would have thought away from the Main Street is probably preferable these days

Plenty of empty spots on Main St.
Top half of Katoomba St.
But beer snobs like the challenge of an out of the way spot.
Look, I’m not saying it’s the worst location in the world. I’m questioning it being an “excellent” location.
Because it’s not an excellent location.
This is my home town. From a local perspective, that would have been a traipse out of our way from ages 16-30.
But Main Street is, unfortunately, a shit hole
Because half the shops are closed.
I don’t what’s going on with the old Carrington Main Bar.
It was better in the 80s and 90s.
It’s all cracked and broken
Right next to the station is a great spot (so that I can leave ASAP when I’m done)
If you count the two closed venues, there’s 5 places that serve alcohol closer to the station.
No one said it was an excellent location.
I said the venue was excellent.
Yes it is on the fringe of Katoomba town centre, not right in the centre. But its not like its out in the bush somewhere. The building used to be the Video Ezy btw.
The venue is excellent?
Ok. What is the standard for excellent these days?
Serves good beer, plays good music, fried pickles.
Not necessarily in order.
Best brewery by location is Seven Mile in Ballina.
It’s right beside the airport so it’s well worth being a couple of hours early for your flight.
Stomping grounds has a set up right next to the gates in Melbourne Domestic airport
But their beer is shit and it’s in Melbourne.
Brazilian Salsipão behind bay 29 is a tasty food option
The addition of a Nashville chicken burger is welcome.
Will check out the Salsipão next game!
No Mountain Culture at the bars this weekend… Where can I post this letter of disappointment.

Yep, the first roosters/tahs game
Looks like the Women’s team isn’t immune from the pitch being cut up during the season.
