Especially given that putting first party stuff on PC seems to be part of the strategy now, it’s difficult to see who this is for. Anyone sensitive to framerates (me) or wanting the bleeding edge would be playing on PC by now, surely.
It’s still far cheaper and easier than an equivalent PC.
I will admit I put FFVII Rebirth in and the performance was bad on quality mode and the PQ was terrible on performance mode. Like bad enough that it put me off the game.
I’d be happy if this resolved those things. But this is a niche bit of kit.
Finished Baldur’s Gate 3 last night. Fuck that was epic. 210 hours.
Just did a race on the Nurburgring Nordschleife in GT5.
That’s !@#$% sweet.
Doing a clean, fast lap on the Nordschleife was one of the most incredible racing game achievements I can remember.
Not exactly sure where I land on the ethics of this, but it is a bit crazy that we can all just buy video games developed in Russia.
I thought we were sanctioning those guys? Maybe video games aren’t included, but I reckon people’d be a bit sketchy about embracing other forms of media from Russia, at the moment…
You can pry my Tarkovsky from my cold, dead hands!
If you’re talking about the director - his moment is well and truely passed.
I have been playing co op with my bro who lives in london. Like 4 hours every second or third weekend. We’ve been playing for a year and are only just about to get to the final fight.
That would have been an awesome way to play. So many choices to debate! I imagine you learned some things about each other.
Satisfactory is the type of game I never thought I would play and I hated it initially but it’s brilliant and I’m enjoying it so much and have logged way time on it than I want to admit. How do glasses enhance the experience?
I did it again I enjoyed it so much. And it’s just the one make Lupo cup race so it’s full open throttle for large chunks. I just need to figure out how to turn the music off …
We both love the snarky response and we both love loading it after to do the proper response haha
I chose to be a Barbarian because I thought it would be simple. I totally underestimated how much I would enjoy choosing the barbarian dialogue options.
They don’t really, other than allowing me a nice big screen (equivalent of 120" screen at 3m) while I’m away from my gaming PC.
I just hit 500 hours on Satisfactory, I’ve restarted from scratch with every major update.
Essentially it’s just process design gamified, and my brain is wired for process design.
This is the Copper Factory I’ve been working on. Smelting on the ground floor, Copper Sheets on L1, Copper wire on L2 and Copper Cable on L3. I also have a small Concrete Factory attached.
I probably should’ve bought it when it was in early access, but Satisfactory looks amazing.
Looked up the game just now. Don’t know why i hadn’t heard of it so far…
Decided to get it, will give it a go. From my experience i’ll relate it to base building in games like FO4 mixed with Simcity/Skylines.
When in the mood, very satisfying time spent.
Ha that’s cool. Don’t know if I’ll have it on me to ever start from scratch but I have been going around and slowly rebuilding things but better. That’s a fancy factory, I was just impressed that my first rebuild of my copper factory last week had foundations for once rather than just being tacked on spaghetti.
Watching the builds that others have done for design tips/inspo makes me ponder how much effort some be people put into these things.
For those looking to play it’s also meant to be fun playing in assist move where you can have 4 peeps all building in the same world in parallel as well.
I start laying foundations as soon as I can, it really helps with managing designs.
I try to rebuild factories as I access each level of miner, since it increases rate of raw materials and therefore needs bigger production lines. I also try to create factories for basic resources (single item recipes) and stockpile them, then build assembly factories for 2 and 3 item recipes between resource mines. There’s also a cycle of upgrading power sources to maintain power levels that seems to alternate with component build levels.
I do the cosmetic stuff while I’m waiting for Space elevator components to be made, it gives me something to do.
