I actually heard it was entering 1.0 and was keen to try it. Rimworld is my most played game on steam and this is kinda adjacent, I could enjoy it.
… But I’ll have a backlog to clear when I get back from holidays so it’ll have to wait for a sale.

I put so many hours into Factorio, i think i played Satisfactory on a free weekend and it was pretty good. might check out v1.0
One game that seems not to get mentioned here is Dyson Sphere Program. That is a similar game and I thought it was absolutely outstanding.
Anyone played Total War: Warhammer 3? It’s on sale on Steam but it’s an absolute clusterfuck of DLC. Is the base game enough or are there essential extra bits?
Was eyeing it up as well, but not the biggest warhammer fan. I’m up for a change as i’ve pretty much done what I can do with the total war series without forking over serious cash for the Egypt and Greek ones.
Yeah I don’t know the first thing about Warhammer but I do love a grand strategy game and I’m not averse to some sweaty nerd stuff.
I was actually looking at a few conversion mods for the ones I have at the moment. One or two interesting ones for Total War Attila floating around
I got my copy of F1 2012 today. That’s only 12 years old.
I’m catching up fellas!
Sorry one other question on these. Do you wear glasses typically? I wear glasses for PC use/reading - glasses over glasses would kind of suck presumably.
yes I do, I wear reading glasses, it has negative (0.0 to -5.0) diopter adjustment on each lens and if you’re feeling flush you can get custom lenses made for it. I set mine to 0.0 and it works well for me, but I do have to situate the glasses on my face just right.
I’d have to double check but that sounds within my prescription I think. Cheers.
I’ve been playing a load of Satisfactory in the last couple of weeks and I’m constantly amazed at how well done the scalability in the game is done, it’s an amazing feat to balance so many factors
Here’s an example:
I unlocked oil refining and found 3 patches of oil
The first one I built out to prioritise creating rubber and plastic that I needed for more complex items
Creating rubber and plastic generates heavy oil residue as a byproduct which can be refined again into enough fuel for 2 generators producing a total of 500Mw of power.
The second one I set up as a dedicated fuel refining plant
This created enough fuel to run 8 generators, creating 2000Mw of power and byproducts that could be used to make rubber and plastic as a bonus.
The 3rd one I built to run on ‘Turbo’ fuel
It generates enough fuel to run 17 generators, creating 4250Mw of power from a single oil source.
To make ‘Turbo’ fuel I had to find, mine, transport and treat coal and sulphur so that it could be used with oil to make Turbo Fuel. Those things were far away and awkward to get to.
I’ve calculated that if I upgrade all the elements in the chain to the max available (overclocking and Somersloop alien tech, I can generate 43, 750Mw of electricity from one oil patch 87.5x the power from the minimum solution.
I’m still buildin nice buildings too
Condensed Coal Plant
Power Plant #2
Screw Factory Interior
I know nothing about this game and will never play it, but I am here for this shit.
It looks seriously cool. I feel I’d be instantly out of my depth though.
yeah feels like something I’d look at in envy as everyone else plays, but would just require too much time and energy that I can put in during my 9:30-10:30pm gaming time
Ended up giving the new Starfield expansion a go (Shattered Space). I mean it’s ok. It doesn’t blow you away in the least bit, but it’s a good enough setting. The whole Va’ruun feels extremely one dimensional with their obsession with religion, but story is decent enough. Would be nice for more space combat and what not and locations outside of the main area, but don’t mind it. It’s definitely no Cyber Punk expansion though
It starts with you and a chisel and very little else the learning curve is looooooong and has very few real leaps, anyone can play it.
I’ve clocked over 600 hours in it now, and this is the furthest I’ve gone in terms of finishing the game, I’m about 50% through, maybe a little more.
I’m playing Starfield, as long time Bethesda game player. The best thing i can contribute to the discussion is, play their games on your own terms and don’t let others influence you. Let your own iimagination build your world around their creation.
Then you will enjoy your digital life.
Some more satisfactory content
Next stage of power scaling - 12, 500mw from a single oil well
And some nice factories
and this is a pic from the highest point in the game showing about half of my buildings
Is that a space elevator?
