During half time of our match I flicked over to the AFL on 7, Speedy was commentator for that as well. I guess/hope that means he wonā€™t go to channel 10 for the Football

No way Fox would release Speed - he calls sports they care about, and heā€™s welcome doing that.

I tried to watch an NRL game once.

Speed was commentating so I turned it off and stared at the wall instead.

Iā€™d also take Robbie Cornthwaite to Paramount if heā€™s keen on being on the sidelines for more than Adelaide home games. Heā€™s probably the least biased of all of the recently retired players theyā€™ve currently got at Fox.

I agree. I wasnā€™t sure about him at first, but Iā€™ve been pretty impressed this season. Thereā€™s been a few times this season when the regular commentators have given their opinion on an on-field situation and he has provided his insight (effectively disagreeing with them) and in my opinion he has been right every time. Things like whether a yellow or red should be given etc.

Thereā€™s an old English bloke who has done a couple of A-League games this season, who isnā€™t terrible. I suspect Fox hired him to replace the sound of Hill. Heā€™s not quite as good as Hill, but seems to call the game well enough. And anything is better than listening to Speed and Bosnich.

There have been some fears from fans that channel 10 may ā€œbig bashā€ the A-League with gimmicks and cheezy marketing ploys but weā€™ve been reassured that FIFA have regulations in place that prevent a lot of that type of thing in order to preserve the tradition and integrity of the game.

Mark Schwartzer is doing some presenting for Optus during the Euros and he is bloody good. I donā€™t know about commentary but he should definitely be involved with the panel style shows
